re: Anyone else enjoy Star Wars I-II-III?

I will stand by Episode III: Revenge of the Sith being one of the best movies in the entire franchise.
I’ll give you that Episodes I & II are bad. I actually think Episode II may be the worst movie in the franchise. It’s just boring.

The prophet Elijah
Imagine the contest with the prophets of baal being handled by a great director and acting crew. That alone would be spectacular.

Buddy Ryan and the 46 defense didn’t even make it out of the 80’s (effectively using a zero blitz as a base defense). A lot of mid-80’s concepts were out of play action entirely and that gave the extra time for the 46 to really work. Coaches solved that one pretty quick it just took a season or two to do it.
Yeah, the 85 Bears were basically the Grits Blitz Falcons with a capable offense.

2012 sure has done some lasting damage to some of you regarding Columbia
I won’t deny that claim lol.

Look at every game we've played there under Kirby (and against beamer). The closest beamer has kept it with us in Columbia is like 30 points.
Yes, but we aren’t the meat grinder we were from 2017-2022. We’re still a lot better than South Carolina, but the gap isn’t an insurmountable chasm like it was when we had those insanely stacked rosters.
And to paint Columbia as an easy place to play is only an honest argument when they’re really bad. And they may be this year, but they also may not be. You may roll up in November on a team that still has a lot to play for. Even if you don’t, the Carolina-Bama game last year proved they can still screw with playoff-caliber teams.
Heck, they had like a 30 point lead on A&M, and that wasn’t even at home.

We should be 10x as worried about Missouri as SC yet nobody is even mentioning them.
I can give you more worried about Mizzou maybe, but definitely not 10x lol. Especially since we get Mizzou at home.

Going to Williams-Brice late in the season.
This one bothers me from the standpoint of coming so late in the year. If we have two losses going into that one and Carolina isn’t dealing with a ton of injuries, they along with that environment could be a real threat to knock us out of the playoffs.
Best OL in your team’s history

I liked the NFL (and college ball) better when the pass defenses were a bit more stout and forced more turnovers.
A lot of that was passing offenses being less sophisticated. Offensive coaches have learned a lot in the past 40 years.
I heard Phil Robertson talking one time about that very thing, talking about seeing routes and passing concepts today that quite simply nobody had thought of in previous eras.

Are you honestly trying to tell me Oregon, Miami, Texas and Ohio State wouldn’t allow their coaches/boosters to pay players pre-NIL?
I can buy that for some schools, but let’s not act like most of the big boys with any kind of substantive backing weren’t paying players since the dawn of collegiate football.

To be fair, Dabo hasn’t gotten hate from Clemson fans for not winning a title recently, he’s gotten hate for letting the program become outright mediocre. They were 7-6 last year in an AWFUL ACC.
It would have to get to that level at Georgia before natives started getting restless. And it would have to stay at that level for 3+ years before Kirby was at any real risk of losing his job.
And I honestly believe Kirby would just retire before that happened.

2010 Bama playing at their best beats 07 Florida at their best by at least 21 points.
re: Today was the first F1 race I’ve actually watched.

No auto racing has ever been as entertaining to me as the hay day of NASCAR.
I respect the level of skill required to race F1, and I think the engineering of those vehicles is insanely impressive.
But, the NASCAR cars being built to swap paint without disintegrating created a style of racing that was just far more fun to watch in my opinion. I like watching more aggressive, contact-heavy racing.
Just wish NASCAR didn’t suck in its current form.

The Canadian folks haven’t quite gotten their head around the concept that the only goals that count are the ones that go into the net.
