It is the Gem of the ACC. An academic and athletic powerhouse.

Also, N.C. State left out or not?

I would be fine with bringing UNC and Clemson to the SEC

I don’t care for some schedules being much harder than other teams. The more teams added would likely exacerbate that.

I know Clemson is bigger nationwide, but USC rules the state. Are they really valuable to the SEC?

Clemson is a lock to go to Big 10.

They operate more like an SEC school

It would make sense for them and probably what they prefer.

Florida State should be more desirable than they are. Some speculate their suing the ACC made them suspect but I doubt the state will stay at 1 member of a P2 league.

Are you serious about UNC? It is the top brand in the ACC.

Perhaps I'm wrong but I believe they have more fans than Clemson in their state.

UNC and UVa

Nobody else should be considered at all.

How about California to the SEC?

UNC is not a football power. For whatever reason, being a mainly basketball power isn't nearly as valuable. That's why, for example, the Big 10 hasn't gone after Kansas. I feel Kansas is a natural Big 10 expansion target but there has been no sign of that happening.

Of course anecdotal, but as a UNC alum (JD), I don’t know anyone who wants to join a largely Midwestern conference. Outside of NC, UNC alumni largely work in SEC states, work with SEC alumni, and find far more scholastic and cultural camaraderie with SEC grads.

Most of them would prefer that the ACC remain intact, but would choose the SEC over any other conference.

UNC and UVA should be in the same conference as their geographic (e.g., Tennessee, South Carolina), academic (e.g., Vandy, UF, UGA, Texas), and cultural peers. I don’t think they want to be in a random conference with Rutgers, Ohio State, and Oregon.

I'd rather have NC State.
