Coach Bryant would say in referring to Jordan - “Shig has more courage in his little finger than I have in my whole body”
They seemed to have a tremendous respect for the other and some degree of friendship.

re: 2023 Recruiting
Posted by Cuthy on 7/27/22 at 2:17 pm
Was just 3-4 years ago there were so many mentions of Auburn losing out on recruits because we didn't have a new Football-only facility like our main competition for top recruits did. "If only" the administration would commit to and build a football Taj Mahal like those other schools, then we would win our share of the top recruits. I guess maybe $90+ million isn't enough to build a top-level facility or, the recruits don't know it will open before the end of the year.

SEC Media Days - TOP story will be _____?

What will be the biggest story of this week's Media Days? Saban vs Fisher? Realignment "news"? Something out of left field?
What you got?

Part of the issue with Missouri in the SEC is the lack of natural/traditional rivals. Adding a team or two that would complement each other in this way would strengthen the overall appeal of Missouri +, +.
Believe adding Texas and Oklahoma is going to be very good for Arkansas. Think of the old SWC and how many big games between Texas & Arkansas. And, though Oklahoma was Big 8, the schools aren't that distant from one another and that should develop into a strong rivalry.

So...adding Clemson and FSU would bring 50% more average viewers than what the B1G brought in with USC and UCLA. (per the 2015-2019 list)
re: What makes everyone so sure the SEC Expansion is going East?

With the forums of a month ago being centered on SEC football scheduling - how many "permanent" vs rotating opponents, divisions vs pods, etc - does further expansion really add any appeal to a future SEC football season? Or, just a big group of teams that rarely even play one another? Does a "conference" lose it's appeal when your team plays a handful of "conference" opponents once every 4-6 years? I doubt that the season would be extended by more than 1 week - and, maybe that's via some end of season conference playoff - so, there's not much opportunity to increase the frequency of teams meeting in that.
Why add some of the teams being talked about? Adding them is going to diminish the competition level.

Reminds me of TCU experience when they were playing very good football but in the Mountain West conference. This was post merging of the Big 8 and SWC and only 4 Texas teams were to be part of the new Big 12. (Texas politicians drove the decisions and chose Baylor over TCU to be part of the new conference- along with Texas, A&M and Texas Tech). Though T C U was doing well the fact of playing games in Pacific time zone was a major detriment to viewership. Now, with a 4-time zone assortment of schools in a coast-to-coast B1G do not underestimate the problems this will create for TV.
re: 1-7 scheduling model gaining momentum per SI’s Ross Dellinger

I have no clue as to what led you to such a statement. So what that half the games are not so interesting- I’m guessing we could include Vandy vs anybody, Missouri, Kentucky, too. But, reading back thru the games that would Not occur every year - Ok vs Texas, Ga vs Aub, Ala vs Tenn, LSU vs Ole Miss to name a few - slot those in on that additional week of SEC National broadcasts. Very valuable programming! The SEC commissioner and school Presidents are not going to just add that to the TV rights (had they announced at Destin last week) without getting something ($$$$) in return.

This is about negotiating with Disney/ESPN to get the contract money increased for providing one more week of strong SEC matchups. The same rivalry games you all mention as going away in a 1/7 format are very valuable potential TV audiences. When both sides of the table agree to raising the annual contract monies, we will see an announcement of a 3/6 schedule.

The result was what was expected. Saw a compilation of media picks across multiple outlets (CBS, 247, ESPN, etc) ahead of the game. NO one picked Kentucky! Came out exactly as expected.

Hopefully, neither team is looking beyond the mid-week games and stub their toe ahead of Saturday. Would take some of the "glow" off.

Looking forward to a very competitive, fun game Saturday. Both teams have really improved as the season has moved along. Both are playing great over the past couple of weeks. Both will likely do very well in NCAA's...no matter which wins or loses Saturday.

The Word is a great revealer of each man’s heart…to say “there, fixed it for you” to that scripture reference is perfectly, clearly a revealing of your need of Christ. “Perishing” is not a good path.

The date that truly matters is each man’s birth date. The day he is birthed in Jesus - when he is supernaturally born again. NO man in this conversation can make you to become Christ’s man. It is for each man to decide, it’s a one-to-one personal decision between you and the One who offers you a gift of immense, eternal value.

Isaiah 7:14 & Micah 5:2 are a couple of Jewish writings (at least 400 years before the Christ’s birth) that accurately prophesy that which was to come. Prophecy is one unique “witness” to the unbeliever. Prophecies are found throughout the Bible. Many have occurred and display witness to their accuracy; many have not yet occurred but, the “track record” reveals that they will. We find no prophecy in the man-made religions. The birth of Christ which is what we celebrate today is one event definitively and in detail prophesied

Luke 2:1-2. Historical record of the times as to the Roman ruler and governor of Syrian province. The type of references you find in the Bible that can be/ have been searched in extra-Biblical records and found to be historically accurate.
