But you don’t think the SEC should boost up in anything other than fb?

This is if they are going to 2 conferences. In that case, I can't see Texas being the limit we go west.

Geographically, where would you stop?

While I agree, little hard to do when 1 TZ falls on the Ga./Alabama borderline.

Sankey has made it about as clear as he could without tampering that he wants UNC and uva. I can understand UNC but not so much uva. There is obviously reasons beyond having a competitive FB team.

It was a great coup by the B1G, even Sankey would have jumped at the chance to add Los Angeles.

The only things that UVa brings in is the D.C. TV market and the leftwing politics.

No thanks.

UVA doesn’t bring the DC market, they’re probably like 4th after Maryland, Va Tech and Penn State.

Culturally and from a sports standpoint Va Tech would be a far better addition IMO.

The real question is whether adding west coast schools would make the conference money or add to the conference in football or basketball.

I don’t see how Arizona or ASU would do either which is why the B10 didn’t bring them when they made their western expansion.

Clear value adds:
UNC

Borderline:
FSU
Clemson
Miami
Va Tech
NC State
UVA

I flew into Myrtle Beach for a work conference once. My taxi driver from the airport said he was a USC grad.

No way, NC State and Va Tech are more SEC-like

SEC making a play for the Arizona schools

If the SEC wants to go further West - this makes sense.. ASU in particular has a HUGE alumni base, if they could get that base to open their check books they could be a big time player. I never understood how they seem to stay mid-tier. Either way it's a lot of eyeballs on TVs.

I take UNC and VaTech or WVU. Clemson would be great for UGA as they are 90 minutes apart so think about a massive game with zero travel expense, but they don't add TV screens in a big way over SCU.

Is Tech bigger in the DC market than Va?

A USC grad to end up as a taxi driver?

Neither, once the bill pass in congress, it will eliminate conference realignment. The bill has a chance to pass this year.

And UVA and Duke would be better off setting up a southern Ivy League than trying to compete with Ohio State and Bama in football. You could have: Duke UVA Vandy Emory Tulane Rice Ga Tech Wake

So, Emory is going to jump from D-III all the way to D-I. Okay.

I suppose they are going to start an FBS football team, too.

It's going to be fun watching these super conferences fall apart under their own weight

The P2 will breakaway and when the teams they want become available, nothing the Senate can do about it.
