I'm sure those morons think they could be a city state sorta like DC but with 2 senators and a rep. Reality is they'd have to talk Mississippi or Arky into taking them. Odds are not good. I'd say the Oregon counties who want to join Idaho or the Illinois counties who want to join Indiana have better odds.

I'm surprised at the big gap between Florida and Texas. We are constantly hearing about large companies relocating to Texas. Of course, that graphic only goes through '23. Maybe the gap would be narrower if it went through the end of '25.

There is some truth to that, but you could also say that about GT. Not that hard for reasonably bright in-state applicants, but pretty hard for out-of-state applicants. Not defending the sips or criticizing GT. State schools should serve their home states first.
