That looks amazing. Only changes I would make:
-take the slaw off the sammich
-make said sammich using the white bread shown (UNtoasted) rather than the bun bread
-the baked beans should look more like this right here:
South Carolina...
Just wtf
If you put a King's Hawaiian roll on the plate, it's not real BBQ.

One caveat on SC BBQ. There is a place in Charleston called Lewis BBQ. A Texas guy who started a place in Charleston, and it’s great.
Rodney just won the James Beard award for best chef in the Southeast in May 2018. Lewis didn't even have a seat at that table

I’ve never had BBQ in Alabama. I need to do that.

If I were to take the worst BBQ in GA and extrapolate that to the whole state, that wouldn't be fair. Again, people associate SC with mustard bbq when 2/3 of the state doesn't eat it that way. If you want good BBQ in SC, go to Hemingway. Williamsburg County is the capital of pepper vinegar BBQ in this state. There's a reason Rodney Scott won a James Beard award and had Bourdain in Hemingway for Parts Unknown.

All 3 are really good at what they specialize in. Lewis certainly doesn’t take a back seat to anyone.

I live right next to Hampton Park downtown CHS. I’m literally a 2 minute bike ride from all 3. Life is good.

Who doesn’t BBQ pork ribs or pork sausage? Or chicken?
The whole beef vs pork bbq argument is foolish argument for arguments sake....

That looks pretty tasty. BBQ is meant to be messy!

I travel a lot more now for vacation then work but I will try BBQ any place it is said to be good. In my opinion I have never had better brisket then what you can get in Texas. There are places here in NC(small BBQ joints) that make make really good brisket but Texas just has so many options for it.
Pulled pork though is Eastern NC and in parts of SC. Rodney Scott's BBQ may be one of the best in the area as far as more well known establishments if not the best. We have a place in Charleston and try to go there but make sure it is not prime or you may have to wait. But like Texas there are so many little joints throughout the area in Eastern NC and parts of SC that you can not go wrong with pulled pork. The only problem when you start heading west in the state and people use tomato based for their sauce. Just not a fan of it. One place in eastern TN not far from where my family is from that has really good BBQ called Ridgewood. Maybe the best baked beans out there.
Memphis though when eaten dry has the best ribs at least by variety of where yo can get them. Even though in Asheville there is a little joint called 12 Bones that every time we go back to stay there at our house we get their brown sugar dry rub ribs plus the wife and kids love the jalapeno cheese grits. The issue here though prepare to wait in line because once Obama started coming twice a year it made the national news and everyone comes through and the lunch line can be a 2 hour wait and considering they are only open for lunch and during the week make sure you have the time.

No, just that 99% of it does
In the eastern part of NC there are a few hog farms that do not send their meat to a processing plant but butcher it themselves and sell it to some of the smaller road side BBQ joints. We even by our meat directly from a farm including the beef, pork, and chicken. Most of the local pig pickin for fundraising is done that way around here.

uhh as a native north carolinian i cant abide by this. get your mustard trash outta here. As far as parts of south carolina doing vinegar based, thats literally called eastern NC style, so anything in SC is just a knock off. same with the ketchup based (lexington style)

He is just an ignorant poster to make a claim and doubt he ever ate BBQ in NC or SC. Hell in NC they fight over which is best , the east or the west. So his blanket statement shows he has no clue.

I do not eat Lexington BBQ. No reason to destroy a good meat with ketchup but people travel to Lexington for it.
