2000 Gamecock baseball won 25 regular season games and 2 in Hoover - did not face SEC in NCAAT - 27 wins

2011 Gamecock baseball won 22 regular season games - 1 in Hoover - 2 vs Florida in CWS champ series - 25 wins (26 if ya wanna count A&M in Omaha before the were SEC in 2012)

quote:

- Lost 9-0 vs Oklahoma
- Lost 14-2 vs Texas
reminds me of 2004 when UMiami dumped LSU 9-5 and then South Carolina sent LSU's arse home in a 15-4 boatrace for a Bayou 2 & Que -

2004 was also the last time both Georgia & Texas were in Omaha together too -

the entire SEC is damn near half of the top 38 nationally - there is no "least valuable school" in the SEC -

caught a clip of KS talking about how he had 'quietly' coveted our job over his coaching career while at his alma mater - he delivered big for Gamecock baseball with this hire -

gonna be interesting to see where Hollins ends up - and why -

Walker Mitchell is fired up to be wearing that Carolina baseball jersey next spring - much like his late father Alan did at USC too -

unpopular opinion - I couldn't be more relieved Forbes is staying where he belongs - out of SC - and away from anything Gamecock - bad fit - they don't come any baby bluer than him - good coach - not for USC -

Matt Williams being back should prove to be a big help - I anticipate in-state recruiting will pick up to a level were accustomed to having -

1-1 vs NCSU

0-1 vs Alabama (Duvall Jax)
0-1 vs Texas (Houston)
1-0 vs Ole Miss (Houston)
2-0 at Auburn (Supers)
0-2 vs LSU (Omaha champ series)

1-0 vs Arizona (Omaha)
1-0 vs Oregon St (Omaha)
1-0 vs Louisville (Omaha)

2-0 vs Kansas St
1-0 vs Washington

he beat North Carolina 12-2 this season at UNCCH -

If he gets under the skin of LSU fans, I LOVE him already...

Everyone is saying congrats/good hire, and LSU fans are just dogging on a guy who took a midmajor to a final. Yes, we all know he lost to LSU in the final in 2 very close games.
Schnall was in his 13th season coaching at Coastal with Gilmore when they went to Baton Rouge in 2016 and took 2 straight to win the Super on their way to winning the CWS -

Clemson is the real head scratcher right now. I thought for sure when they hired Erik Bakich he would get them humming again and yet for his 4th year they flat out sucked.

he's got Jacklegg back in the dugout with him - that's why -

FTR - LSU bringing back fired coaches this past few months is not a new thing - Clem is the OG - Jacklegg came back the day of Bakich's hiring press conference -

Schnall has a better record in Omaha than Scott Forbes (1-2) - who was gifted a 2nd trip to the CWS yesterday in large part to Southern Cal's inability to catch a foul ball final out with the game on the line - that was the LF's ball and 3B screwed it up -

other teams of note - Schnall is 6-2 career v Cliff Godwin & ECU - he went 1-2 at Troy 2025 and did not play them at all this season - he beat The Citadel both games in 2026 -

his WTH? concern is a 1-3 record against Holbrook - but that speaks to more of Coastal's curse against CofC ever since CCU stole the 2010 regional on the out call at 1B to end CoC's season and advance CCU to host Carolina in a Super at Pelicans park -

home plate to straight center at Foley sits West to East - almost dead perfect due West to East - wind can blow in many directions - but it usually follows the jet stream from W to E - especially in June in Athens -

June 10 2006 - NCAA record 5 straight home runs at Foley Super -

Georgia just has State's number this season - 3 in a weekend at the Dude - 1 in Hoover - now game 1 Super -

10-3-8-5 runs ...now 9 and counting -
Beamer has beat Dabo both games played on Sweenie's home field - the first win snapped a 40 game home win streak for Sweenie -

bonus -

the 63 points Beamer's team hung on #5 UTK in 2022 is the most points scored by an unranked team against a top 5 team in college football history -

exemplary marketing - I commend them -
