Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby was granted a temporary injunction against the NCAA on Monday in Lubbock County Court, according to court documents. The court ruling allows him to play the 2026 college football season.

What a joke. I'm very interested to see how the media will react. If Sorsby played in the SEC they'd be crying about this ruling, but given how hypocritical they were in their response to Ole Miss and LSU tampering compared to Miami and Texas Tech, I expect them to say this is good for the kid and sport.

Pete Rose- banned for life after betting on his own team.
Brendan Sorsby- suiting up in August after betting on his own team.
The frick are we doing?

Don't worry, at least he's required to sit out the first two games!

No consequences for actions you knowingly committed.
My how things have changed!

Everyone seems to be undefeated against the NCAA with home field advantage...except Bama (and Tennessee)

Tried in Lubbock County and he’s granted injunction, go figure.

This is an appealable interlocutory order, so it may not be the final word. I just don't know that the Amarillo Court of Appeals would be very likely to rule against Tech. I'm surprised that this retired judge from Fort Worth (who came in after the Lubbock judge recused himself) fell for this stupid argument.

I would like to think that this will be overturned on appeal but I have no faith in our judicial system with regards to collegiate athletics anymore. This is why Congress needs to get involved. Until the NCAA is given actual teeth by legislation, this shite will continue to happen.

Question is how fast can this go up to the Texas Supreme court probably because thats where this gets overturned....but usually things like this take a LONG time to go through that process

Bama and Ole Miss really railroaded anybody that loved college sports.
Put fricking Pete Rose in the HOF now. fricking assholes

There are no more rules.
NIL didn't kill college football. Kids were still going to play hard and games would be real.
Texas Tech killed college football. There is nothing stopping players from throwing games and betting against their own team. If you bet on college football from this point forward, you are an idiot.

He will obviously play this season, as it will take longer than that for this to move through the courts. We live in a world where there are no longer consequences for your actions. Sad.

And people are worried about international basketball players with this shite happening.
