is a temporary injunction similar to getting out on bond until trial?
Only slightly. The big difference is that the judge doesn't grant a temporary injunction unless he finds that you are likely to prevail at trial.

I've seen the order, and it's a joke. It's fatally defective for not setting a trial date. But, the plaintiffs don't care because even getting that issue heard in accelerated appeal will probably consume the football season.

You just proved my point that Tech didn’t know when they signed him.

No I didn't. I said the gambling story hadn't come out yet when Leavitt was in the portal. That doesn't mean TTU didn't know. In fact, I think they did know.

Do you honestly think Tech would commit $5 million

This is the real reason they passed on Leavitt. They didn't want to pay starter money to 2 QB's and were betting that Sorsby being a degenerate gambler would not come out.

The fact TTU didn't cut bait says a lot about their ethics.

Another though - and I highly double this would happen - but I think the playoff committee could just leave Texas Tech out of the playoffs and not breach and rules / injunctions.

CFP is wholly separate from the NCAA, so any ruling against the NCAA wouldn't bind the CFP. In theory, the CFB can punish Texas Tech for this.

I love the Horns and aggys bashing Tech. It shows that they are scared of us. They have done things under the table forever and now everyone can pay players and it's got them scared. Probably true for most of the SEC teams. Coach O admitted to it.

Thank you guys for supporting Tech athletics everytime you fill up your car with gas. Much appreciated!

Scared? lmao ok. I'd argue that the tech fan on an SEC board seeking validation is the one who seems scared.

I'm sure if this was arch that was granted the injunction you'd be 100% in favor of it right?

We have two NCs in softball. How many does TTU have?

Dottery is the only one who entered the portal after that occured. And still so, how would he immediately know LSU has a spot for him if he entered and they would pay him what he wanted? He entered and essentially immediately committed.

It was like 2 or 3 days, not that immediate. And he was the leading tackler in the SEC, of course LSU had a spot for him.

Even if we assume that's true, the still doesn't explain the others, all of who had signed agreements and were enrolled in classes.

Who had all signed agreements? I only remember paying a buyout for Princewill.

I'm sure LSU does tamper, but none of this is really evidence of it. Certainly not to the level we're seeing with Pete.

NCAA Bylaw 10.3:

10.3 Sports Wagering Activities. The following individuals shall not knowingly participate in sports wagering activities or provide information to individuals involved in or associated with any type of sports wagering activities concerning intercollegiate, amateur or professional athletics competition:

(a) Staff members of an institution's athletics department;

(b) Nonathletics department staff members who have responsibilities within or over the athletics department (e.g., chancellor or president, faculty athletics representative, individual to whom athletics reports);

(c) Staff members of a conference office; and

(d) Student-athletes.

This, the bylaw couldn't be any more black and white. I have a buddy who is an assistant AD at a D1 school, and he won't even play fantasy NFL football with our college group of friends because of this rule. Just isn't worth it to him to mess around with. Yet Sorsby can literally bet on games his own team is playing in and apparently that's completely fine.

You mean other than the phone call of him saying he's convinced Lacy to follow him to LSU?

paying a buyout for Princewill.

So LSU signed a kid who was under a binding contract and enrolled in class, against NCAA rules...

Harper was also under contract and enrolled in classes too.

We have a massive judiciary problem of legislating from the bench these days.

As an at-large, yeah they absolutely could, and should, do that to Tech, but they'd get an auto-bid for winning their conference wouldn't they?

Not if the committee ranked them outside the top 5 conference champs.

Nobody is scared of you. Frankly, I wish Sark would call your bluff and play week one. As a sooner, it would be fun to see Texas stuff you back in a locker (where your program belongs).

I wonder if the other members of the SEC have figured out yet that you guys are a cancer to a conference and that the aggys are weird.

In all honesty, what do you think happened with 3 Ole Miss players who signed binding agreements to return to Ole Miss and were enrolled in classes who suddenly entered the portal and immediately signed with LSU?

I'd love to hear how you honestly think that situation played out.

I think that back channels were used just like with everyone else that isn't being investigated by the NCAA.

Nice attempt at a deflection but you didn't answer my question. If this was Arch, and he was granted the same injunction, would you be here defending him?

Texas coming out today and saying they'll play Tech Week 1 would be hysterical
