What's everyone think about UA/OU?

OU's playoff hopes will come to an end

Pretty good chance they lose to Pitt

Now you are blaming the refs for cheating Notre Dame?

To be fair, A&M basically got away with murder with that no call. Refs bailed them out big time.

Apparently the early part of the season only counts if your school isn't bama. Good to know.

Bama has beat UGA and Vandy since the start of the season. Who has ND beat?

How is A&M beating a mediocre Notre Dame team the best win in CFB?

The media is pimping the highest ranked SEC team, which is A&M. They won't tell you that ND's defense is bad and their kicking game is probably the worst in all of college football. I watched that entire game and ND didn't impress me at all. They didn't look good and they're not a team I would consider to be good.

A&M fans gets really sensitive if you say ND isn't all that great. They also get sensitive if you point out that they only won because the refs bailed them out by refusing to call one of the more blatant holds of all time.

Cheating death against Vandy? It was a 34-10 game in the 4th and we played prevent and just wound the clock. Obviously penalties and blown coverages were problematic but I wouldnt say we "cheated death" in that game, MSU we absolutely cheated death.

If Vandy recovered that onside kick, there's a good chance they would've marched down the field and scored. They had all of the momentum.
The real question is which of those teams will Deuce Knight be playing for in 2027?

ND has played three ranked teams and lost to two of them. Their best win is #19 USC.

Agreed. The ONLY argument I could see is ND lost in the last seconds to the #3 team and the #18 team. They looked awful in both games. Against Miami they needed a bad bounce to go against them and against A&M they lost because the refs missed one of the more blatant holding calls of all time.

I hate that argument, because by that logic, Auburn has played a bunch of ranked teams really close, and they got royally screwed against UGA on the goal-line. But everyone thinks they stink, whereas a lot of people (not me) think that ND is really good.

When ND wins out and wins their first playoff game, will you admit you were wrong?

If it's against someone with an actual pulse, sure. If it's against a fraudulent team like BYU, no. That said, I don't think they'll win out and make the CFP.

Texas has been cheating death against Vandy, Kentucky, and MSU. UGA will put the final nail in their coffin.

NOTRE DAME ranked 10th. 18th is the next 6 win team

I've been getting down-voted for a while for simply saying that ND isn't very good. It's all those A&M fans because stating the truth, that ND is not a good team, makes their "signature" win over them look not so good. The rest of the SEC realizes that ND is not a good football team, but A&M twists themselves into pretzels defending ND.

Texas, oklahoma, or vandy deserve to be in the field currently over ND

Agreed, but it doesn't matter. None of those teams will make the playoff as they'll all lose at least 1 more game. Texas will lose to at least 1 of UGA or A&M, OU will lose to Bama, Vandy will lose to Tennessee, and ND will lose to either Navy or Pitt.

Notre Dame is good.

Not really. They can't run the ball on 3rd and 4th and short and their Defense is nowhere near as good as last year's. They looked awful against arguably the worst P4 team last week.

quote:

The team that was shafted by this was Miami which has already beaten Notre Dame.

I think the issue is that was the first game of the season and ND was starting a new QB on the road and both teams look a lot different. I don't think either team is all that good, but Miami has looked awful the last few weeks, whereas ND has looked okay. Nothing special, but okay. I think the committee's logic is based on the directions of each team, if they played next week, ND would win. I'd probably agree. I don't think either team makes the CFP.

Choosing to play for bama is proof of retardation

LSU had Les Miles and Ed Orgeron. One guy had the worst clock management skills of all time and loved eating grass, and the other guy, well, no one could understand a single word he said. And that's not even mentioning Brian Kelly, who had the worst southern accent ever and was basically dry humping recruits.

Notre Dame at 10 is hilarious

It doesn't really matter. I think they lose again, probably to Navy or Pitt. They're not all that good.

The rankings will probably shift radically over the next week or two when ND, Texas, and OU all lose their 3rd game.

LSU fired Kelly mid season thinking they could get Kiffin. Now their recruiting will be

They'll still get most of the top Louisiana kids because "dey LSU".

This will be ironic soon.

If that's the strategy that the Florida AD uses, then be prepared for a bad hire or lazily promoting someone currently on the staff. All of the good options will be gone by then.
The Kiffin to Florida/LSU talk was always nonsense. Ole Miss is going to make the CFP. Kiffin is not leaving when he has the CFP to prepare for. Additionally, there’s no way that LSU and Florida refuse to hire a coach until Ole Miss’ season ends, which will be in late December or early January.

Auburn-James Franklin
Florida-Eli Drinkwitz
LSU-Jon Sumrall
Penn State-Brian Kelly

I remember being told that without Notre Dame's academic requirements, BK could get the athletes he needed to win a NY6 or CFP game.

I looked at the 247 team rankings and ND currently has the #4 class with 27 commits. Of those 27 commits, 22 are bluechip and 3 are 5-star recruits. Their average recruit ranking and team score is right up there with us and Georgia. Looking at the rankings from when Kelly was there, he never had a class close to this class that Freeman has while at ND.

I still don't think Freeman is a great in-game coach, but there's no doubt that he has brought in better talent via HS recruiting and the portal than Kelly did.
