Contingencies discussed during Monday’s meeting vary greatly—from potential kickoff dates starting in September and running to mid-October. An eight-game conference-only schedule would provide the most testing continuity and flexibility. A 10-game conference-only schedule is unlikely to gain much support because of its rigors but is one of the many proposals.

In a 10-game all-SEC slate, teams would keep their scheduled eight conference games while adding two more teams from the opposite division. In this scenario, an SEC team would play all but three of its conference members. One athletic director described this plan as laughable. Even a nine-game conference-only schedule is getting pushback from league administrators, the AD says.

Says another AD, “I don't think we can close the door on anything right now.”

I'm guessing Bama will keep two non conference patsies rather than add Florida.

As long as we play LSU nothing else matters.

Vandy is likely not wanting to play because they don’t care about football in the first place.

Sorry Corndog, we want to play our instate rival. Louisville would be a better game then playing Ole Miss.

And to be very clear, I would rather play a 10 game all conference schedule each year than the BS non-conference slate most teams do currently anyway.

Saban has pushed hard for a ten game conference schedule for years now.

UK, Miss State, Vandy, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Kentucky, South Carolina and Mizzou want nothing to do with a 10 game SEC schedule.

Id run from the west powerhouses to play ACC schools too if we were a bottom dweller.

I’ll never understand how this is the conclusion some come to, when Saban has been the lone SEC coach advocating for a 9 game conference slate. And he has been after it for a decade.

When the conference was 10 teams I could see a playing each team every year. But, now with 12 there'd be no room for OOC games. Expansion has locked the conference into scheduling like it is now, IMO.

No idea if a schedule will actually be played, but I think the SEC will probably do a conference + 1 OOC schedule.

IMO. play the games, require the fans to wear masks. The players are low, low risk but should be tested weekly.

Playing a 10 game conference only schedule & then the winner of the West playing the East winner in Atlanta would almost lock the SEC out of the playoffs. The SEC winner would have to navigate an 11 game SEC schedule with only one loss to mabe get in. And then beat 2 more Top 5 teams to win the NCG.
