Incident supposedly happened before the ECU game. If true not a good look.

Being completely idle for a week and having 14 days between games is not an advantage in baseball.

Ok. What’s different? A generic platitude sounds fine when you look at the result, but what specifically do elite programs (in whatever sport) have that can’t be replicated somewhere else? Not even talking about just A&M. What does North Carolina have in basketball that North Carolina State is fundamentally incapable of building for themself? What fundamental attribute can Michigan State not muster that Michigan has?

If you read my post I never say it’s impossible for A&M to have success, just not something inevitable like some “in the know” say.

Logic is simple. Every program with resources (like A&M) competes directly with each other and indirectly with less resourceful programs, but still with aspirations, who will try yo get assistant coaches or non starter players to come their way for more prominent roles and payments. Of all the money disposed into college athletics A&M maybe accounts for 1.5% of the grand total (likely less).

You think a company that accounts for that % of total sales in a given industry is in position to just bully everyone else and just buy success? Of course not, yet that’s been A&M fans’ attitude.

I genuinely, honestly, truly, sincerely think God has some kind of beef with the Texas A&M University athletics department.

Nah. It’s just A&M fans have not been realistic about their true potential. I know it’s something the media has been saying for decades but the facts are A&M has no significant competitive advantages over the other 35-40 other big time big time athletic programs nationwide.

Enough resource to have some success eventually? Sure, but not enough to pretend is a birthright. It really may never happen and it wouldn’t be a fluke.

What a lazy and shortsighted hire by Trev Alberts.

Are you going to blame the mediocrity since 1939 on Alberts? A preseason #1 for the perennial posers is the worst thing that could have happened to them.
You know like Fisher, Mond, Sumlin, Franchione, and so many other names before.

At what point Aggie realizes its not them it’s you.

I agree. CF is a shell of its former self.

In general A&M’s supposed potential is overrated..but this particular team is not. If anything they’re underrated.
Aggies haven’t won a NC since before Jesus and they still act like they are a big player, which is a little bit annoying, but other than that they are good people.

I’ve been treated well there and have Aggie friends that are all good folks.

re: An honest prediction about A&M LSU

Posted by r2d2 on 10/21/24 at 6:31 pm
Lost in LSU’s relatively dominant performance last Saturday is an exaggerated number of false starts and procedural penalties. In a louder place against a better Defense you may not survive those mistakes.

Both offenses have talent and will have their moments but the team that plays best defensively will win. I’m encouraged by how LSU is playing lately on that side, but still have PTSD from last year and even in some earlier games this year to be confident we can hold the Aggies to win a 17-14 type game.

Ain't going to happen this year with mediocre to poor QB play.

A&M’s QB is better than most. We all have to get used to the idea a NC team doesn’t have to be rock solid in every facet of the game anymore. This is as good a year for A&M as any to make a run.

15 years ago, that would be more relevant than today. With transfers and NIL now more than ever: THE FUTURE IS NOW.

There is no guarantee A&M, or LSU would be in this position again any time soon. LSU Has won several NCs and SEC Championships recently. Aggies are desperate to break 1939. That´s the source of pressure.

More pressure on A&M this weekend

Posted by r2d2 on 10/21/24 at 12:17 pm
Both teams have exceeded expectations but in the overall picture there is way more pressure on A&M. They’re home, they’re favored and there is the 1939 and counting thing. We’ve all seen LSU succeed at the highest level many times; while this season is the first real opportunity in decades for A&M to shake a gigantic monkey off their backs.

Burrow & Daniels great. Nuss not great.

Burrow 09 and Daniels 23 better than anyone… but comparing all 3 QBs first year as full time starters Nuss is every bit as good if not better.

Jimbo was the coach. We were excited to beat anyone

1939. Let’s not act like this is all Jimbo Fisher.
He did coach a very good game and kept his team composed. There was some fortune involved like it has to be when you play good teams.

re: Did we really get beat that bad?

LSU showed resiliency, but the truth were also extremely fortunate to end up winning that game. Ole MIss looked like the better team and in control pretty much the entire game. They have to be kicking themselves and had plenty of chances to put the game away. Kind of what happened to LSU vs USC.

Man I feel for Burrow and Chase
