Your reasoning is flawed. He was hired for his skills, not his political leanings, obviously. I know the right wing has a litmus test, but that’s not necessarily the case with moderate to left politicians.

Anti-abortion is a right wing movement. Generally speaking, right wing movements have the support of the Republican Party. Own it.
