re: UCLA lost to Fresno State - JPLSU1981
The 4th quarter was a wild game, huge swings both ways UCLA was dead in the water til a couple Fresno turnovers. Then UCLA finally came back and took the lead, then Fresno took it back, then UCLA appeared to score the game winner with under a minute til Fresno casually drove down the field with ...

re: What makes a good coach /fit? - JPLSU1981
Hiring head coaches is such a crapshoot. Just be thankful that LSU has proven in the modern era that there are multiple coaches out there that can probably win a lot of games at LSU. I learned long ago that fan excitement/disappointment over a hire does not in any way dictate or predict a coa...

re: Urban Meyer says there “no chance” he goes to USC - JPLSU1981
I think Jacksonville is Urban’s final coaching job Personally, I don’t think he really wants to coach, but he needed one more big payday before going full-on media/retirement long-term He’ll ride it out with Jacksonville until they fire him, which they inevitably will in 2-3-4 years...

re: Hope we can get to O’Brien before USC does. - JPLSU1981
Yeah I alway hear “he did a good job at PennState” I totally disagree with that. He wasn’t there long enough to evaluate if he did a good job at PennSt or not. Yeah, I guess he temporarily held together what could have turned into a real chaotic dumpster fire. But that’s not much IMO. BOB wou...

re: Late Kick Live with Josh said an agent told him he believes the LSU job will be open - JPLSU1981
I thought he was trying to say that the candidates will wait until the LSU comes open because it is a better job.
That makes a lot more sense. USC probably would like to find a new HC as soon as possible, but the coaches they will be targeting will: -be coaching right now -will...

re: Hester stirring the pot regarding John Emery Jr. - JPLSU1981
It’s pretty clear to me that Emery did something that is embarrassing/sensitive, and is why everyone is giving the run-around publicly Like others have mentioned as a possibility, i think cheating of some sort...

re: Jordy Culotta - "Blood is in the water. Wheels are in motion...higher ups have had enough" - JPLSU1981
This is how I think it will play out… If Orgeron plays nice, he may get about $10m and both parties move on with no mud-slinging. If he doesn’t, the only money he will get will be years down the road after it plays out in the courts and both parties will suffer. LSU has all the leverage. Be...

re: Remember when Chris Landry said this would eventually happen while on OTB? - JPLSU1981
I mean it’s easy now to say “I told you so” He was also wrong in 2018 and 2019… we beat everyone and didn’t lose to any less talented teams So guys that beat their chest and say “see I was right” are also simultaneously admitting that they were wrong too...

re: How Much Responsibility Does Woodward Bear for This? - JPLSU1981
I have no problem with O’s extension after the title. It wasn’t really crazy, especially a 70% buyout based on $6m per year It’s not like he gave him a 10-year deal or anything. 6 year contract is fairly standard/expected, who would ever imagined we’d be thinking buyout after only 2 years off a t...

re: Possible replacement coaches list - JPLSU1981
It’s hard to argue with what Fitzgerald has done at NW, but that just feels like a boring hire and a boring brand of football to me. I think we need an offensive-minded HC, just my opinion....

re: So how underrated was UCLA? - JPLSU1981
Remains to be seen. But they are certainly better than I expected. Last year after MissSt beat us I thought they would win 7+ games and the QB would be a Heisman contender. As an LSU fan, I’m certainly hoping they are good because it will be all the more embarrassing if they turn out to be Poo...

re: Jordy Culotta - "Blood is in the water. Wheels are in motion...higher ups have had enough" - JPLSU1981
His buyout right now, TODAY, is $18m He has $26m left on his contract…today ($24m 2022-2025 + $2m left in 2021) He gets 70% of what’s left if fired At the end of this season, he has $24m left on his contract. He will get 70% of that His buyout is NOT a specific $$ number. It is 70% of...

re: Jordy Culotta - "Blood is in the water. Wheels are in motion...higher ups have had enough" - JPLSU1981
Nope, he is due 70% of whatever salary remains on the contract. His contracted annual salary is $6mil through 2025. After this season, 70% x $6mil x 4 years You’re forgetting to subtract what he’s already earning and paid this year (which obviously no longer remains as contract salary owed) ...

re: Jordy Culotta - "Blood is in the water. Wheels are in motion...higher ups have had enough" - JPLSU1981
Yeah I’m just talking about O’s buyout, not assistants O’s buyout started at $21m at the beginning of this year, but it’s already gone down based on his compensation earned this year. If he’s fired at the end of the season, his buyout is ~$17m...

re: Jordy Culotta - "Blood is in the water. Wheels are in motion...higher ups have had enough" - JPLSU1981
If its installments than Ed might take a lump sum, like Bo... absent that... the amounts are owed.
His buyout is due in equal monthly payments over the duration of the contract. So at the end of this season the buyout is about $17m payable until the end of 2025. About $4m per ye...
