Also.. why would there be school in session in the middle of the worst attack on your soil in history? Hell, our kid's schools get canceled if there is a little thunderstorm

Good question. And not just some randomly-located school… a school located on a military compound that one could reasonably expect could be targeted.

You bring up a damn good point… assuming there were kids in school there on that day, why the frick were they having school in the first place?

The only logical answer I can think is to try and use the school/children as a shield… in other words, they’re not going to strike this base because we have a school right here.
I consider myself independent but conservative-leaning.

Rubio is very impressive to me. I’ve definitely become a fan of Rubio the last couple years. I like him quite a bit more than Vance.

When I watch Rubio I find myself thinking “this guy is definitely going to be President one day.” For whatever reason(s) - which I cannot exactly pinpoint - I do not have the same thought when I watch Vance. Rubio just seems more “presidential” than Vance to me.

Panel on college sports

I highly recommend all LSU fans watch this presidential panel on college sports (NIL/Transfer portal/etc). To make it LSU-related and rant-appropriate, LSU is mentioned more than any other single university during this conversation, which is kind of cool.

Update from Japan: Punch the monkey says shake off the midweek setbacks and Geaux Tigers!

Rubio is impressive. Definitely gives me “presidential vibes” when he speaks as SOS.

I don’t get the same from Vance.

I feel pretty confident in saying Rubio will be president one day, whether it’s in 2028 or later.

I haven’t seen polling, but I’d guess Rubio polls higher than Vance.

I use the same towel all week, sometimes longer. When it starts to get hard, I get a new one
My opinion of basketball is absolutely jaded in a negative way because of our program. But basketball to me requires the least strategy/scheming/planning of all the sports and is why I don’t really enjoy it.This is overly simplistic….Shoot it, sometimes it goes in, sometimes it doesn’t.

If LSU is playing, of course I want to win and be good, but I’m just not a basketball fan. The sport at all levels just doesn’t have much appeal to me.

All that said, if LSU had a winning program, I’d be watching and rooting for the Tigers. But if we stink, it’s really really easy to not a give a F about the program. I’ve been through periods of stink in our other programs and am never as apathetic towards those programs when we’re not good.

re: 9 game schedule is a win for Sec.

There’s no doubt it creates more intriguing/good matchups and will make the next SEC TV contract an enormous amount of money

My only issue with the 9-game conference schedule is that the average SEC strength of schedule was already tougher than other conferences with an SEC 8-game slate. So going to 9 was unnecessary from a relative SOS point of view.

Breaking news: LSU men’s basketball program is in bad shape right now.
I know Golding contacted this particular player directly, but I’m curious and don’t know the answer… is it legal to contact a player’s agent if the player is not in the portal?

Jan. 5: Ferrelli showed up to Clemson for his official visit. Swinney said this is when he first met the soon-to-be third-year linebacker.

Swinney explained that Ferrelli and his dad were coming off a portal visit to Ole Miss. "I said, 'How was the visit?'" Swinney recounted Friday. "And his dad said, 'Not good.' He said it was a mess, it was unorganized, it was chaos. The building was a mess. Nobody knew what was going on. And I was like, 'Well, I look forward to y'all seeing Clemson tomorrow.'"

Remember when Dabo tattled on us?

Before the first game at Clemson, he got an LSU player (Haulcey) suspended for the first half of the game.

He’s at it again…. But this time he’s big mad at Ole Miss/Pete Golding/Austin Thomas. Video below is kind of crazy, don’t often see a HC do this kind of a presser. From an LSU perspective, kind of interesting to watch this play out:

I may be in the minority here, but Dabo coming off as a bitch here IMO

Mark Emmert was pretty well known I think, but yeah I couldn’t name the current pres without googling

And maybe emmert wasn’t that well known, Maybe I just knew him because of his LSU ties :dunno: (Emmert was LSU chancellor when I was in school and hired Saban, so I was very familiar with him). Either way, it definitely seemed like Emmert was more prominent and visible and in the media than whoever the current guy is

And in the only rankings that matter (combined HS plus portal),

You said so yourself… “the only rankings that matter”

LSU now #1 in “the only rankings that matter.”
He’s talking about overall (HS recruiting + transfer)

At the top on the right you can click the dropdown for the 3 rankings (overall/recruit/transfer)

Recruit = HS recruiting class
Transfer = transfer portal class
Overall = HS + transfers
