SEC Expansion Target Rankings

Shameless spinoff thread. I was curious what this looks like without heavy weight on tv ratings, and and attempt to factor in "fit".
I created seven categories, each with a weight assigned:
1. Distance from geographic center of SEC (Houston, MS): 15%
2. Number of games played all-time against current SEC members: 15%
3. 2025 athletic revenue: 20%
4. 2025 attendance: 10%
5. 2025 stadium capacity percentage: 10%
6. Top 25 AP poll finishes, 2000- present: 15%
7. Weeks all-time in the Top 25 AP poll: 15%
Here are the results:

Would probably chug an entire bottle of bourbon if Notre Dame is even in conversation to join the SEC. Might do it anyway looking at this.

I really hope the SEC is done expanding (though I unfortunately doubt we are - because $ trumps all).
If we have to expand, I hope VT is on the list.

If we add four mine are Clemson, North Carolina(but Virginia because UNC is too closely tied to Duke), Virginia Tech, and Oklahoma State.

Just use home attendance. There is no "magic" interest in a team that is not refelcted in its attendance.

Send Aggy back to the Big12 for TCU.
Far more respected athletic program and the only program in Texas that has actually played for a CFP title.

Trade out the Texas, OU, Aggies, and Mizzou.
Bring in UVA, Clemson, UNC, Duke

Big 10 would laugh all the way to the bank if the SEC willingly gave it UT, OU and A&M. Nothing would stop it at that point.

Notre dame has always tried to be an east coast school and avoid being seen as a Midwest school. That being said ND biggest rivals all reside in the big ten or acc. I think they’d choose big 10. Navy, army, Pitt, Purdue, Indiana, Mich, Mich st usc Gt Miami and Stanford are their biggest rivals historically. Most are big ten. The closest thing to a sec rival nd has would be gt

Trust me when I tell you this…you do not want to give UH an invite to the SEC. They will not bring you any extra revenue but will be recruiting in their backyard of one of the most fertile areas of SEC country. Can’t believe anyone would actually think they are a viable option.

I have thought that UNC and Fla St would be targets for a while now. If NIL remains wild, TX Tech could be another one.

50% of tv viewership in college football comes from 18 schools, 90% viewership comes from 67 schools. Can we at least agree we need to cut fbs football from 138 to at least 67 before we go realigning conferences or changing playoff numbers and rules again.
