None of these stats matter.... All in entirely different systems.
Burrow's first year he was playing under Ensminger.
He definitely made MASSIVE improvements from year 1 to year 2...
also, year 2 was under a different system with Brady.

This comparison is stupid..
1. Burrow- Burrow's first year, he was pretty damn good. the second year, he was fantastic.... but the difference had a lot to do with scheme. Joe Brady came in and innovated the offense.
This is not meant to take away from burrow's greatness. Rather, to say that if we had Joe Brady a year earlier, Burrow's 1st year at LSU would have been better than it was.
Burrow was technically sound his first season on campus. Leavitt is not.
Also, Chase, Jefferson, and Moss aren't about to come walking in to this offense suddenly.
2. Daniels- JD was scared to throw his first season at LSU. He ran well, but was scared to make a mistake.
When he did throw, he was accurate.
Leavitt's mechanics are all over the place. He is does not read the D well, or see open receivers. When he throws he is very inaccurate so far.
Leavitt has not, proven to be anywhere close to the level of 1st year JD, or 1st year Burrow...

Absolutely.
Is Sam going to be a better QB than Chambliss? Not this season.
Scheme could be tweaked, sure…. They can tweak theirs too.
LSU is a better program and long term will be better than ole miss.
But this year…. I don’t believe our Jimmies are better than their Joes… it’s pretty damn even.

Leavitt has shown 2 consecutive weeks that he is not a good passer. He struggles to read the field and deliver an accurate pass.
I’m simply choosing to believe what he has shown us is true, as of now….
Can he do better? Can he improve?
Yes, I’m sure he can.
Can he do it mid-season? I sure hope so.
Right now, based on his performances he has not been great.

I have said many times I think The Oline under Kelly was soft as shite. They are better, but they can’t beat D-lines with guys like Echols.

I hate to say it.
Sam is NOT a good passing QB at all.
He makes bad throws. He doesn’t set his feet and makes bad decisions.

The refs were largely a non-factor. Which is the way it should be.
