LSU loses half its staff
Funny how people spun this narrative to this now. We literally lost 2 of 11 on-field coaches, Aranda and Brady. We'll lose a 3rd because we're replacing our RB coach Tommie Robinson with Kevin Faulk on our own accord as we're letting Robinson's contract run out on Mar 1. So we lost 2/11 coaches and replaced a 3rd by our own choosing, that's not quite "half"

Kiffin offered him an on the field job and he stayed. But he went when Georgia offered. Interesting
From what I remember, he is close friends with Kirby Smart. I think Kirby tried to bring him to UGA as strength coach when Kirby first went to UGA.

True but he's never taught football in his entire life.
He has been around the practices every day though. He would have had to learn coaching techniques/fundamentals from that. We will see how good he is at his new job........if he does take it.

Hiring a guy with zero on field coaching experience at a place like UGA is just dumb.
With the injuries Bama has had the last few years there have been questions about whether there was an issue with S&C or possibly the training team contributing to the problem.
Either way, if he wanted on the field I’m glad Saban said no.

There have been rumblings about his off-season program and the rash of injuries Alabama has sustained over the last few years.
This was put into motion as early as last off season. Alabama looking to make changes.
the old "we didn't want him anymore" line. Classic bama.

He runs everything when coaches aren't around. It's silly to think he doesn't know anything about coaching, and his relationships with players are second to none.
I'm guessing he'll be a really good recruiter.
Hope it works out for him, he'll always be one of the cornerstones of what we built. Interested to see if we make some changes to the S&C methods.

Kirby tried to hire him as our head S&C coach back in 2016 and almost got him. They are indeed good friends.
We wound up with Scott Sinclair who has been terrific. To the earlier point, Bama will find a great replacement and be fine

Don't care.He seems like a meathead and he should be kept in the cooler (S&C) as far as I'm concerned

Well. He doesn't recruit. So not sure how you'd know.
All S&C coaches participate in on campus recruiting events. It’s a key selling piece for any visit to any program given how much players interact with their S&C coaches.

He will likely be our ST coach. Great motivator and recruiter. S&C is a fricking grind of a job, this should actually give him a little bit more leg room
But if he sucks at it, then he will have to take a pay cut to even get back to the S&C career path. He wrote his own check in that field at Bama, but things can change quickly once you are out of it. Yoxall at AU was recognized as one of the best in the country, now where is he ?

Yep. Most people don't understand everything S&C coaches do. He is a high energy guy. I wouldn't want him being my coordinator, but I think he could do a good job on-field under the right circumstances.

He’s now vested in the Alabama retirement system with a $500k salary. I don’t think money is a concern for him

Negative. Dr James Andrews is who I thought of as a top surgeon. He's not even the richest orthopedic surgeon. His estimated net worth is 10 mil. This other guy is worth 1.5 billion. Chochran ain't sniffing either one.

Dr. Andrews earned his position as one of the richest physicians in the world after treating hundreds of injured athletes. His net worth is estimated between $10 million to $100 million.
Fellow orthopedic surgeon Gary Michelson, MD, nabbed the No. 5 spot on the list. His net worth is estimated at $1.55 billion. He is noted for his million-dollar charitable donations to medical research, animal welfare, online textbooks and rainforest
