@CecilHurt
Scott Cochran, the longtime strength and conditioning coach for @AlabamaFTBL is expected — barring a last-minute change — to leave UA for an on-field coaching position at Georgia per sources. More to come at @TideSports

EDIT: he will be coaching special teams

What on Earth...

Doesn't he make like $500k to be a strength coach? (or more)

Does he have any experience actually coaching? What on-field coach is he taking the place of, considering there are limits to those?

Strength coaches are massively important. Aren't they the only guys with access to the kids 365 days a year basically? I'm wondering if he just hates Saban?

This is bizarre to me. Guy has it made in his position. No pressure, rolling in the money, making coordinator level paychecks, not having to recruit, etc.

He's been with him for most of his professional life. He wants to be an on field coach.

Kiffin offered him an on the field job and he stayed. But he went when Georgia offered. Interesting

He will likely be our ST coach. Great motivator and recruiter. S&C is a fricking grind of a job, this should actually give him a little bit more leg room

He's best friends with Kirby and Georgia at this point is a little different than Ole Miss at this point.

Coordinator money, doesn't recruit, way less pressure, etc.

He has a big staff to help him and he never has to be on the road recruiting.

And what does he know about Special Teams? That shite is kind of important.

Some people like getting outside their comfort zone and challenging themselves.

And some people are LSU fans.

Yeah I don't get it either, but I think this is great for everyone but Bama and possibly UGA

Disagree on the less pressure point. S&C is a year round commitment and arguably works directly with the players more than the coaches. It’s exhausting and I bet he just wanted a different view after all these years

What exactly is Cochran qualified to coach on-field? He's been S&C his entire life.
