Terrell Owen's son, Terique Owens, was signed as an undrafted free agent by the San Francisco 49ers this weekend. Here was TO's reaction to his former team signing his son...
quote:

"I’m proud of him. All we ever asked for is an opportunity. He’s wanted to make his own name and carve his own path to get to where he is. We would’ve loved to have gotten drafted, but he’s got his foot in the door. Now he has to continue to do all the right things and show people he can play. Like I told him, he doesn’t have to be me; just be himself," he said.

"He’s just as good as any of these other kids who got drafted; the only thing is some of them have played more football than he has. So, he should be encouraged…I started in Junior High. I was on the team, but I wasn’t playing…I didn’t play Varsity until like my 11th grade year. He has tremendous upside and knowledge he still can gain. He can run fast and catch, just didn’t play at an earlier age & really get going to like his Senior year. So, I’m excited to see him grow more now."

Great answer for T.O. The kid is athletic enough to get a shot, and it's up to him to make it happen.

HIs son had 68, then 171, then 528 WR Yards each year at Missouri St. He's lucky to get UDFA.

Sounds like a trend of improvement each year to me. If this trajectory continues, maybe he will be able to make a contribution on an NFL team in a couole of years.

Huh...TO with some maturity. Good for him and good luck to his boy.

“All we ever ask for is an opportunity “ Yeah, lots of guys would like that opportunity but don’t have a dad named TO. If the kid makes it, awesome but this was a favor to his dad and the kid will not make the practice squad.

His kid has good genetics, it’s worth seeing if he can play at that level. Say what you will, statistically his son has a better chance than many others at being capable
