College baseball already had recent success and they are back to the college world series.

Football is a tournament threat for the foreseeable future.

They always should have been. They have a ton of in state talent for all sports. As long as Chris Beard is there too they arent an easy win in basketball either

Thank you sir
We finally stopped tripping over our own dicks and started all pulling in the same direction. Also legally being able to pay players helps.

We always had penny pinching ADs that only wanted to be mildly competitive while pleasing the Good Ol Boy donors. Keith Carter is the first AD we've had in my lifetime that wanted to see how well we could do if we actually turned on the machine.

TN/AL residents can sort of understand but the rest of the SEC has no idea how difficult it is to lock down instate recruiting with another SEC team

Thats not it in my opinion. It really comes down to football which drives athletic departments money and between Vaught and Tuberville, Ole Miss was satisfied with mediocrity. The Ken Cooper, Steve Sloan, and Billy Brewer years made Ole Miss a very average football program which lowered the bar throughout the whole athletic department. From Tuberville on, yall have slowly worked back up. Yall need to lock down Beard, allow Bianco to continue his steady success, and not be afraid to pull the trigger quickly if Golding sucks in order to stay relevant.

Just my opinion

zero sec titles and zero national titles in any major sport. This is rock bottom
Even zero final fours in it's programs history

We built a great venue and hired a great coach. But it is what it is. 2 sweet sixteens in history. Chris is paid a lot. But he is overcoming a lot. I hate it too because I love college hoops. Keep paying amd helping him. Who knows?

Does the Learfield Directors Cup matter now?

You all in on all sports, are you?

Disagree in part, Billy Brewer had us a game away from an SEC title twice, both times were readily followed with probation. Then Tubberville dug us out, and here is where your answer is reflected, we should’ve done more to keep Tubb; but then we had a string of bad hires till Freeze, and then guess what? Probation again. Now, the NCAA’s had dulled, our football program can flourish, well except now we have Tampergate, we’ll see what that gets us.
