Lane has said publicly that Freeze showed it can be done at Ole Miss (in specific to the back-to-back wins over Alabama) and the reason he went to Ole Miss. Lane brought many more eyes on the program, because he's his own brand, but discounting what Freeze accomplished on the field is wrong.

There are really two people that deserve the most credit for success since NIL at Ole Miss:
1. Walker Jones - he wrote the blueprint for NIL collectives that all other schools have now based their collectives off of.
2. Keith Carter - we had been stuck with horrible ADs that were more concerned with penny pinching and kissing the asses of the "good old boy" network. Keith's focus has been on winning on the field.

You're making it very clear that you don't understand the difference between making the playoff and bowl tie ins.

And you’re making it very clear you’re a fricking moron. Ole Miss was #9 in 2014 aka top 12 aka in a 12 team CFP. NY6 bowls are still used for the CFP retard. I know because Ole Miss played in a NY6 bowl AND the CFP beating Georgia in the sugar bowl.

I see LSU fans have devolved another thread into being about Lane.

It's hilarious to watch the LSWho fans give Kiffy boy blowjobs everyday. It's comedy Gold.

You just showed right here that he wasn’t as good as Lane. Especially when the other ole Mrs cucks are on here bragging about 3 10 win seasons in a row. Just stop MAN.

Once again, bowl tie-ins mattered in 2014, they don't in the 12 team playoff era.

At any rate, it doesn't matter in regards to the overall argument.

Even if Freeze makes a 12 team playoff in 2014, Kiffin makes it twice, in both 2021 and 2025, thus destroying this whole argument that Freeze was as good as, or better, than Kiffin. Perhaps Kiffin also adds a third appearance in 2023.

I'm not discounting it.

I'm saying Freeze didn't have equivalent or more success than Kiffin, as the other Ole Miss poster erroneously stated.

Thats not it in my opinion. It really comes down to football which drives athletic departments money and between Vaught and Tuberville, Ole Miss was satisfied with mediocrity.

Sir! A correction is in order.
Tubbs was a good coach, but
Vaught was a GREAT coach and I fear you are ignorant.

So same as Lane pretty much. Both got teams to playoff level. How is this so hard for you to grasp? Freeze won the first Sugar Bowl for Ole Miss since the dinosaur. He showed we could contend before Kiffin ever got here. The program was healing before Kiffin and had already shown the same level of success he attained.
