re: Why are gas prices going up?
Posted by DarthRebel on 3/13/26 at 11:02 am to zuluboudreaux
Currently, it is an excuse for greed. The gas in the tanks already has a sunk cost and futures do not impact that.
Long term increased prices is what everyone else is saying, decreased supply.

Isn't the tech industry having the most layoffs?
Did the tech industry hire anyone with a pulse during Covid, because they thought the world would never return to normal?
The answer to above is "yes".
Some of you have a very short memory and forget what covid tried to do. It was essentially the beginning of the great plan
- Total government control - "you will take a shot to interact with society", vaccine cards, checkpoints
- UBI beginnings - Stimulus, PPP loans that did not require payback if used by government standards
- Leftist utopian hellscape - no rules around work, work from home, paid even when not doing work,
- Media control - Government censored speech through control of social media
Government money was free flowing and tech companies were snatching it up hiring anyone with a pulse to get some. In return, they did the governments bidding.
The two most overstaffed sectors post covid was government and tech. Now they are returning to normal levels, although government has been overstaffed for decades.

I think we have all have become immune to revisions.
My give a darn is gone, as they really just make up numbers at this point.
Is the economy good, no. Is it ever as bad as they make it sound, no.
AI is having zero impact in the workforce, it is just an excuse companies are using to trim fat and over-hiring.
Tariffs were not near the drama our panicans predicted.
Globalist are the only true issue right now trying to tank the economy.

I've also known of a couple friends who had issues with pellet insertion where the site was irritated for quite a while afterward and ultimately switched to injections.
Wife did pellets for a few years, but really hated the process. Some pellets would be no issue and others would just hurt. The TRT was to help her while on birth control, but once she got off that, she really started hating the pellets and got off.
She is at the point a couple years later to entertaining TRT again now in her late 40s. She is going to try testosterone troches, which is a daily pill that dissolves in the mouth. Her T level came in at 10 ng/dL this week, my last one was at 930
Doctor wants her to hover around 100. 10x increase :pimp:

I was a blood donor before TRT, so maybe that is why mine tends to run highish then. I physically feel better after a donation, but I also usually go 3-4 months between and not every 8 weeks.

re: Why JD Vance’s Framing of AI Will Define the Future of Global Politics
Posted by DarthRebel on 3/11/26 at 9:10 am to BeefSupreme
Look what I did with AI
Key Takeaways
Media outlets suggest there’s internal GOP tension around AI policy and VP JD Vance’s role in shaping it.
Polling shows Americans are skeptical of AI, with only about a quarter viewing it positively.
AI is becoming a major election issue because it affects energy, jobs, education, privacy, child safety, and national security.
Vance’s Position on AI
Why he resonates with some voters:
Vance combines working-class populism with experience in Silicon Valley, which supporters say helps him understand both tech elites and everyday Americans.
His main concerns (“landmines”):
AI being used for surveillance or invading privacy
Political or ideological bias in AI systems
Tech platforms influencing elections
Sexualized AI-generated images
AI “companions” and social media–driven isolation harming young people
His goals (“roses”):
Strengthen U.S. leadership in AI
Avoid overregulation that could hinder innovation
Prevent political censorship or biased AI
Ensure AI boosts job creation and benefits working-class Americans
Policy Actions Under Trump–Vance
AI-related construction is already providing jobs for electricians, plumbers, and other trades.
Major tech companies recently signed Trump’s “Ratepayer Protection Pledge,” agreeing to pay the energy costs linked to AI data centers instead of passing them to local communities.
Bigger Picture
AI is becoming a defining issue for future Republican leadership, including Vance’s potential 2028 prospects.
Supporters argue Vance is shaping a conservative “code” for navigating AI—balancing innovation with protections for workers and families.
The moment is compared to earlier technological turning points like the Industrial Revolution.

Once you remove your panic, AI is not going to drastically change much from a head count.
What it can do is make that head count more productive. Companies have to employ people. Without people making money, how will they buy those companies products. Humans have to work or the whole system crashes. While you will have dipshit companies automate out their workforce, you will see plenty actually expand it.
There is going to be a pivot in job types, but overall numbers will balance out. This will suck for the people who are basically government type employees, those lazy bastards are screwed.
You also have to look at this as a potential solve for our pending workforce crisis. We are not impregnating our America women enough and the TFR is at 1.64. Deaths will outnumber births in 2030. AI will allow a smaller workforce to produce at the same levels, as well as provide social security benefits to the aging population. Another way of driving it home, the USA will not have to rely on migration to bring in working bodies to support the system. One of the driving reasons for the mass migration into US and Europe, we are not producing enough kids to replace the parents.

ChatGPT. Just the quickest way, but the reports are legit. There was one study that scared all women, but it was Testosterone + Estrogen therapy combined can increase breast cancer risk.
TRT in women alone is very beneficial, just like in men. If a woman has a family history of breast cancer and/or on other hormones she needs to monitor it more closely with her doctor.
Same is true for men on TRT around prostate as they age.
