I had this same idea. Put $$$ into repairing stadiums around the south & rotate the 9th game every year.
Give OOS fans a chance to see their team without having to travel all the way back to campus.

Legion Field is falling apart anyway.

Just for the rest of our entertainment, Ole Miss and State in Jackson, MS.

If Chattanooga had a larger stadium, Tennessee and Alabama. Or Vanderbilt and Georgia. Memphis is not neutral. Ole Miss has the edge there.

I think the IB in Bham could work again. However there isnt a stadium big enough. LF is a shithole. The new one will only hold 55k.

Lol. That is hilarious.
Saban has a neutral site game for Bama almost every year.
You think it hurts recruiting? And he still would do it.
The benefits for recruiting far outweigh the losses. I promise that is why Saban does it so often. I promise that the WLOC helps recruiting in S GA and Florida more than it hurts 1 home game official every other year.

If it goes to a nine game schedule, it will be 5A/4H and then 5H/4A.
I get it that CDM would propose that since they have a neutral game in JAX every year.
Arky-A&M in DFW. But otherwise it does not make any sense. AL-AU have not played in BHM in over 20 years, State-OM have not played in JAN since 1990.
Years back schools did play off-campus home games but that with few exceptions that no longer happens. On-campus around the conference is so much better today. Accommodations are better, highways are much better, campus amenities are off the chart, stadiums are all first class.
Other than some of your kick off classics to start the year, there is no reason not to play all your games on campus.
State is playing Lafayette in the Superdome to start this year and then playing them at Starkvegas next year. That was a great scheduling idea by State and Lafayette. A win -win. Playing at Lafayette would make no sense but a game in the Big Easy on Labor Day makes perfect sense for both schools.
But back to the original point. That idea (4-4-1) is DOA.

We have Arrowhead, so I can see why you don’t want to play us. :)

Who care what the future ex head coach of UF thinks? Guy won’t last 4 years.

Build a 100k seat stadium in Hendersonville, NC and that could be a neutral site for South Carolina and Tennessee.

When has UofSC ever filled a 100k stadium?

Fair question: WHICH game would be the NS game? If you do division, somebody would still have 1 more "Away" game to sort out.

I dislike Mullen as much as the next guy but this is ultra stupid. Arguing for +1 SEC game is hardly looking to make the schedule easier... This being a particularly odd take given that he would be adding an extra West opponent each year with this proposal... And you seem to be of the mind that the West is significantly better...

We have an 80k seater already despite us being a small state that we share with Clemson. You'd need 100k if us and Tennessee played at a neutral site in NC.

A&M-Arkansas doesn’t. Florida-Georgia doesn’t. OU-tu doesn’t. But UofSC & UT does?
