The UCLA and USC programs predate not only the arrival of MLB, but pro sports as a whole. That’s not the case with the state of MO which has been involved at the pro level since the end of the Civil War. It was the westernmost and southernmost state in the pros before expansion from the late 40’s to the early 70’s.

That’s because the state of LA doesn’t have an MLB team.
Shh, the grownups are talking football not the round ball.
I mean, it takes skill to piss off one of the most loyal baseball towns in America in St. Louis. The golden goose is finished.
Lindenwood cut their lacrosse, gymnastics, and track and field programs a two years ago and they’ve been in D1 since 2022.
