How in the world can anyone make a judgement like this?
Munich was a disaster in terms of facilities and of course protecting the athletes from terrorism.
Sarajevo and Lake Placid also had horrid living facilities for the athletes
Montreal was a disaster financially and put the city in debt for decades as was Rio and Athens.
ACOG (Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games) used private/corporate funds to finance the games and ended up with a surplus while donating the Olympic stadium
back to the city of Atlanta.
The games also helped develop and revitalize the entire West Midtown section
of the city. What exactly are you basing your judgement off of? The park bombing?

Literally the only two "problems" were the park bombing (of which it is ridiculous to blame "Atlanta") and the corporate sponsor stuff, which is laughable.
Atlanta had tons of corporate sponsors because, as you noted, it was privately funded and didn't use a giant government slush fund to waste money on places never to be used again or lining public officials pockets. The Olympics directly contributed to Turner Field, Centennial Park, the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center, Georgia International Horse Park, Volleyball Facility; not to mention the Olympic Village which became and remaind student housing for Georgia Tech/Georgia State.
Nobody will ever be able to put on the Olympics again in that fashion. Atlanta did something that nobody else in the world could do or has come anywhere close to doing since then (outside of Salt Lake City, which needed Mitt Romney to come in and fix things but still got $1.3B from the US Government).

Birmingham was too cold and now you want to move it to Nashville. December in Tennessee.

This is so dumb. The Titans' stadium is a craphole compared to the retractable anus in Atlanta. And I'm a Nashville area resident.

Lets do a rotation of Atlanta, Orlando and Nashville. (Maybe New Orleans) Cool experiences at all of them.

Let's be honest, if we wanted the SEC championship game site to fit the character of our conference, we would buy a Delorean and move it to 1954.
At the very least it would fit the character of this board.

Hate to break it to you but Florida is sort of an outlier when it comes to SEC character.
Posted on 7/7/20 at 3:18 pm to ForeverGator
If the SEC wanted to do something how about get rid of the lifetime claims on the SEC championship game tickets many Florida and Alabama fans have. Why should they get to keep Buying them forever just because they played in the first couple of games 20 something years ago.

This is coming from someone who lives in Nashville: Nashville is perhaps the most overrated city in the entire country. 20 years ago I might've been on board with this idea, but this place is nothing but overpriced restaurants, shitty "up and coming" musicians, and tourist traps.
Sure, it's better than Atlanta.. but that's not saying much.

If SEC ever leaves atlanta, ACC will snap it up. if SEC wants a rotation it will not include atlanta.

Atlanta is a shithole. Hate that place.

Orlando has two shitty stadiums and is the single most overrated city in the country.
Someone else already mentioned it but if the game leaves Atlanta, the ACC would take it yesterday and the SEC would never get it back.

Early December you don't know what the weather is going to be like in Nashville. You know what the weather is going to be like under the dome.

I went to the 2019 SECCG in ATL. WE stayed downtown and walked 1 mile to and from the Dome. Seemed just fine to me.
Now, I am in favor of some kind of rotation. But indoor the first weekend in December is preferable to outdoor. ATL, New Orleans, and/or Arlington/Houston.
