re: Jay is still an elite coach

1. Teams with just average talent rarely if ever make the CWS.

2. EVERYONE who evaluates college baseball talent carefully rated our Portal class as a top one nationally. EVERYONE was wrong.

3. My bet is that Jay Johnson will have more of the right players in place next season.

4. I cannot see anyone in college baseball I would trust to do better than JJ at LSU.
My prediction for LSU Baseball: JJ will have us playing better in 2027 and 2028 and we may host Regionals in both those years.

IMO, LSU is immensely fortunate to have Jay Johnson leading our baseball program.
AS far as I care, LSU can drop Men and Women's Tennis plus M/W Swim and Dive, plus M/W golf as of June 1, 2026.

Basketball (two major sports) must be first priority. We need a new arena.

Baseball just needs more NIL.
Do you believe that LSUMBB will NOT have a full roster in 2026-27? There are 100's of players in the Portal who can sign anywhere anytime.

Even in St James Parish, a contract is a contract. And NIL deals are contracts.

Baseball polls are pretty irrelevant especially before any team has played.

One thing is clear: our talent was overrated by everyone who pays attention to such things.

The ONLY significant number is TOTAL $$$ for ROSTER which is Revenue Share plus NIL.

Only State has a higher Roster Total than LSU does (for 25-26).

But I completely support giving baseball the increase in Revenue Share they are getting AND the increase in NIL they are supposedly getting.
Trent Johnson was terrible. But AT LEAST he coached us to an SEC title and an NCAA Ty invite.

I truly believe that CMM would never have gotten LSU to better than 9-9 in the SEC.

1. Coach Yo is a top5-6 HC in the SEC based on how her teams play AND how she recruits.

2. There is NO WAY Ole Miss WBB has enough cash to pay any one player $500K. Support for OM WBB has been sketchy even though Yo has done a good job in the last few years.
I have been an LSU fan since I was 9 in 1960.

LSU has not had a primary rival since Tulane in the 1900s-1950s.

LSU and Ole Miss were rivals in the late 1950s through the early 1970s.

From the 1970s on the best SEC teams LSU played every year (in fball) were Bama, Auburn, and Florida, but those games were never like traditional rivalries. LSU just wanted to win more because those were the best teams we played every season.

That kid from UF really turned our heads when we played them. She was the only player I saw all year who was as fast and athletic as Fulwiley.

9-3. Lose at Ole Miss and at Tennessee PLUS either Texas or Bama.
My wife and I had planned to go to Oxford for that game. We always go to 1-2 away games every year.

We won't be going to Oxford this time. Not worried about words/insults, but rocks and other debris can hurt oldies (75) like me? :-)
1. Kim Mulkey can coach. She pulled our program out of the garbage can and into the top 10 annually. Kim will get some good players to come to LSU.

2. It is increasingly clear that MONEY is the BIGGEST factor in players' decisions even in WBB.

3. Just like MBB, you are only guaranteed a player on your roster for ONE SEASON.
I trust Kim to coach whoever is on LSU's roster to the max in 2026-27.

However, it is VERY disappointing that we are losing the best PG on our team and a player with two seasons left.
It's 3000 new requests for no telling how many actual tickets.

I know we were down to just under 5K in season tickets for 25-26. WE used to sell 9500 season tickets and even over 10K in some seasons.

WBB sells right at 10K season tickets now since Kim got here.
There is a part of me who would like to see LSU Baseball barely make a #3 seed in a Regional and then actually win said Regional.
Brian Kelly's experience was greater than most P4 schools would have given him.
