Jay Johnson is in charge of this program and I am grateful he is. I believe that JJ will get this team playing as well as they can by May. What I fear is that the talent on this team is not championship talent nor has it ever been.

Let's just beat Vandy tomorrow. 1-2 is better than 0-3.
Our loss tonight was based primarily on us giving too many free passes. Hopefully our starting pitching will be much better Sat and Sun.

A complete collapse of a couple of pitchers. Yikes.
Folks: Calling college kids "boys" dates back to the 19th century. They were called "boys" because "men" worked and did not go to college.

Univ of Florida has a song they sing dating back to the early 20th century, titled "We are the Boys of old Florida."

It is very old fashioned.

re: The whistler

Vandy has TWO whistlers. One is much younger, maybe in his 40's.
Jeff Landry is TERRIBLE as Governor. And his interference in LSU sports last year is still a stain on LSU, IMO. Note: the last 4-5 statewide polls have Landry's approval ratings at 43% and lower, even down into the 30's.

Rouse is a big sports guy and so are most of the Edwards and some of the Landry appointments on the BOS. As far as sports go, the BOS is good.
NC State MBB has won a national title in my lifetime and LSU MBB has not.
10-2, play one away playoff game losing to Notre dame in a snowstorm.

Losses at OMiss and @Tennessee. We do NOT make the SECCG.

Our biggest problem will be at QB due to injuries. In fact, I do not believe that Sam will make it through three complete games...he'll go out in the OMiss game and not return for the season. Be happy to be wrong about this.
I can assure you of one thing: Kim Mulkey is VERY involved in recruiting including lots of travel to see kids all over the country. Gary Redus was here to learn from Kim. I am glad Tate is giving Gary a shot at Rutgers. Rutgers used to be a bigtime WBB power in their pre-Big10 days.

Given how much our 3 best frosh actually played this season, I doubt any will transfer at all.
Carolina is SEC Champions in WBB. Texass is SEC Tournament Champs in WBB. Congrats to both teams/coaches/programs.
I wish Dallas or Houston would outbid Greenville, SC. Even Birmingham would be more centrally located.

However, the only two fanbases in the 21st century that have consistently supported SEC WBB Ty are Tennessee and SCarolina.

6-6. we won't sweep anyone, IMO.
NO matter what happens Sat/Sun in Greenville, LSU will be the #2 seed in UConn's regional in Fort Worth.

Why? There are 4 places a #2 seed can go...behind UConn, UCLA, Carolina, or Texas.

(a) Carolina and Texas are OUT as they do not want to put 2 teams from the same conference as #1 and #2 in the same regional.

(b) UCLA is OUT as we were in the same regional as UCLA for the past 2 years.

Even if we beat Carolina and Texas I still think we will be #2 behind UConn. We should NOT have lost those first two SEC games (UK and @Vandy) PLUS we do not have as many Q1 wins as Carolina and Texas to move ahead of either one.
smart move if you wanna get at least 7 innings in.

Sunday's game might not happen
Bigtime win. OU has a very good NET ranking.

Congrats to our Tigers.
I am MOST worried about how we field the damn ball. Our fielding percentage is among the bottom 3 in the SEC. We are simply terrible at times.
Beating UF does NOT help LSU out at all in terms of seeding in NCAA Ty.

Oklahoma is a much higher NET ranked team.

Winning the SEC Ty by beating Oklahoma-SCarolina-Texas/Vandy is the ONLY thing that MIGHT help LSU seeding-wise to get away from UConn. And even if we do that, we may still be a #2 seed in UConn's regional.

The problem with seeding this season is the NCAA does NOT want to seed SEC teams #1 and #2 in the same regional. And the SEC has too many top teams (Carolina, Texass, Vandy, LSU, Oklahoma, etc) to deal with.

re: Acadiana Flag

So, the BR area is "Arkansas?" Or New Orleans?

Acadiana is PART of Louisiana just like Baton Rouge is.
My wife and I were on the other end sitting sandwiched between 8 Memphis State fans, 4 on row in front of us and 4 on row behind us. They talked back-and-forth over us at every timeout making their plans to go to ATL for the Regionals the next weekend. LOL. Didn't work out for them.
Vandy's overall record is now 7-6.
