re: SEC Hubris Against Indiana Is Laughable
Posted by bunkerhill on 12/25/25 at 1:33 pm to theballguy
It is really difficult to get a read on big ten teams like Indiana and Ohio St.
That conference is so unbalanced between the haves and the have nots. Indiana beat a bunch of big ten teams, so did Ohio St. In fact they were not challanged in most of those games.
If you compare Indiana and Alabama from a personnel standpoint Alabama has more talent per position.
Why Alabama has struggled to run the ball is a mystery to me. Bad O-line play I guess.

I pull for any team that plays against big ten pukes. I personally don't have anything against Indiana, it is the other aholes in that conference.
But, if Indiana wins they will become like those other low lifes in that conference.
I hope Miami sends the butt nuts home with a loss.

My thoughts exactly. It is a 10 game play off with two teams getting a tune up game.

When you knock off some big boys that are heavily favored brings in a boatload of respect.

I can appreciate your meat judging team. I worked on the shipping floor of Swift & Co one summer when I was in college. I helped unload many, many tractor trailers of hanging beef quarters. It was mostly USDA Choice. This is all before it gets to the grocery store. You learn to appreciate American agricultural production.

Ole Ty was running for his life most of the night. With no running game to speak of he was hoping to survive the game.

The Michigan Man's haughty attitude is something to behold, if you have ever witnessed it.
Their scandalous actions and the embarrassment that goes with it is well deserved.

I did not see the game but how do you lose to the Falcons? I thought TB was supposed to be the division leader.

ND is not going to join any conference, imo. What Finebaum said about ND is correct. They are not the draw they think they are and don't have the power they used to have.
With these big conferences now ND is looking for scheduling arrangements amongst P4 schools. I personally don't think they are going to leave their arrangement with the ACC anytime soon. They both need each other.
To get more eyeballs on the TV sets the ACC and Big ten would like them. I don't know they move the viewing meter that much for the SEC.

Gosh, you guys are beating up on the 'barn.
Have a little compassion. I am sure they would if roles were reversed!
Not a chance in hell!

You can't penalize a team for playing in a CCG, by dropping them out entirely.
They start that crap and that is the end of CCGs.

As a long, long time follower of SEC football I thought it great that Tex and Ok wanted in the conference. Both of you bring a lot of credibility to the conference.
Going to SEC venues, you know and experience the passion that fans bring to the games. A few weeks ago when Texas came into Athens the atmosphere was similar to a championship game. Big crowd, prime time with national TV exposure made it seem more than a regular season game.
The smack talk that goes on can be rather entertaining. I have friends that are fans of a half dozen other SEC programs. We talk smack to each other but have never let it become an obstacle.
This weekly grind, that people have talked about for a long time, is a real thing. Even teams with bad records have guys that can play at a high level .

I hope he and his fellow buck nuts are not doing anything stupid, like causing themselves bodily harm. After all it is a game.
I am sure some of their fanbase is wanting to fire the coaching staff this morning.

Per capita when measuring something like this means absolutely nothing.
re: Sort of SEC related with Rhule as a coaching candidate. Check out Nebraska's recruits

Nebraska was known as Steroid U for good reason. With the crackdown on that abuse along with limits on "walk ons" that caused them to tank and they have no way to recover their former glory.
re: Is OSU vs. Indiana the lamest #1 vs. #2 matchup of all time?
Posted by bunkerhill on 12/3/25 at 5:47 pm to Bigdawgb
I don't see Indiana making a competitive game of it.
Ohio St, Indiana, Georgia and the #4 team,Texas Tech?, have no upside for playing in a conference CG.

I know Petrino has a checkered past but the guy can coach football.
I would have given Petrino another shot at it.

There is a lot of parity in college football these days. People say it is NIL but it is really the transfer portal, coupled with NIL. If you don't lose first team contributors you lose experienced backups.
I don't know if there are any great teams this year. Some would say Ohio State, perhaps they are and perhaps they are not.

I like to listen to Finebaum when he has sports writers and sports commentators on his program.
The thing that makes me change the channel is the crazy-arse callers that sound like they may have completed the 3rd grade. Their lack of knowledge is outstandi9ng, very noteworth in fact.

I think he relishes the attention. It is a charge to his ego.
When it is alll said and done I would not be surpised to see him stay at Oxford, MS.
I think Florida and LSU are both gambles for any coach. Over the years plenty of good coaches have bombed out at both places.

This Texas poster sounds like a guy that has never played the game and knows very little about the game of college football.
Perhaps he thinks college football should be played and conducted like golf or tennis.
Be sure and let the opposing coach you are going to try an onside kick.
