i looked up bio on Searels. He will be 61 before next season starts.

He may welcome a reduction in his duties.

I have no ill will toward Beck at all. He waited his turn and played to his ability.

His last year at Georgia had to have been frustrating to him, having a receiving corp that could not catch a cold.
How many yards and points were left on the field?
I thought there were a number of PI calls that could have been made, on both sides of the ball.

This CFP format needs some work - too much time off between games, no first round byes, finishes too late after the season is over and no more spots for non P-4 teams.
The Georgia/Oklahoma suit against the NCAA was absolutely the right ruling. I didn't remember that it was a 7-2 decision. College football is probably more popular than ever.

My biggest complaint about the present state of college football is the unlimited transfer with immediate eligibility. Some guys are playing for their fourth team in their fourth year. How crazy is that? In professional sports you can't jump from one team to another like that.
When bowl opt-outs started happening it made bowl games less and less relevant, no doubt.

I watched fewer bowl games this year than ever. I have caught all of the CFP games.

Something definitely needs to be fixed regarding the CFPs. There have been 8 teams receive first round byes. Those 8 teams are 1-7. That is not just a coincidence. That long lay-off has got to be addressed.
You are correct. The SEC is still leading college football in high school recruiting. The transfer portal is spreading out the talent.

I have thought the NCAA may have set up this transfer rule as a way of spreading out the talent across the various conferences. The sport was becoming too regional with the dominance by Southern teams.

The big tenners want to talk about NIL. I am pretty sure the SEC was not doing anything other big time programs were not doing.

Old Bucki and his fellow bucknut people are out trying to get the coaching staff fired.
That fanbase wants the coaches fired after every loss. Damnedest thing I have ever seen.

"We wuz robbed by those cheating officials."

Those two can't lose enough to suit me.
Now if Alabama can pull off a miracle today.
It is really difficult to get a read on big ten teams like Indiana and Ohio St.

That conference is so unbalanced between the haves and the have nots. Indiana beat a bunch of big ten teams, so did Ohio St. In fact they were not challanged in most of those games.

If you compare Indiana and Alabama from a personnel standpoint Alabama has more talent per position.

Why Alabama has struggled to run the ball is a mystery to me. Bad O-line play I guess.
I pull for any team that plays against big ten pukes. I personally don't have anything against Indiana, it is the other aholes in that conference.
But, if Indiana wins they will become like those other low lifes in that conference.

I hope Miami sends the butt nuts home with a loss.

My thoughts exactly. It is a 10 game play off with two teams getting a tune up game.
When you knock off some big boys that are heavily favored brings in a boatload of respect.

re: Texas A&M Meat Judging Team

I can appreciate your meat judging team. I worked on the shipping floor of Swift & Co one summer when I was in college. I helped unload many, many tractor trailers of hanging beef quarters. It was mostly USDA Choice. This is all before it gets to the grocery store. You learn to appreciate American agricultural production.
Ole Ty was running for his life most of the night. With no running game to speak of he was hoping to survive the game.
The Michigan Man's haughty attitude is something to behold, if you have ever witnessed it.

Their scandalous actions and the embarrassment that goes with it is well deserved.
I did not see the game but how do you lose to the Falcons? I thought TB was supposed to be the division leader.
ND is not going to join any conference, imo. What Finebaum said about ND is correct. They are not the draw they think they are and don't have the power they used to have.

With these big conferences now ND is looking for scheduling arrangements amongst P4 schools. I personally don't think they are going to leave their arrangement with the ACC anytime soon. They both need each other.

To get more eyeballs on the TV sets the ACC and Big ten would like them. I don't know they move the viewing meter that much for the SEC.

Gosh, you guys are beating up on the 'barn.

Have a little compassion. I am sure they would if roles were reversed!
Not a chance in hell!
You can't penalize a team for playing in a CCG, by dropping them out entirely.
They start that crap and that is the end of CCGs.

re: Texas and Oklahoma, any regrets?

Posted by bunkerhill on 12/7/25 at 9:33 am to
As a long, long time follower of SEC football I thought it great that Tex and Ok wanted in the conference. Both of you bring a lot of credibility to the conference.

Going to SEC venues, you know and experience the passion that fans bring to the games. A few weeks ago when Texas came into Athens the atmosphere was similar to a championship game. Big crowd, prime time with national TV exposure made it seem more than a regular season game.

The smack talk that goes on can be rather entertaining. I have friends that are fans of a half dozen other SEC programs. We talk smack to each other but have never let it become an obstacle.

This weekly grind, that people have talked about for a long time, is a real thing. Even teams with bad records have guys that can play at a high level .

I hope he and his fellow buck nuts are not doing anything stupid, like causing themselves bodily harm. After all it is a game.

I am sure some of their fanbase is wanting to fire the coaching staff this morning.
