Only because I do not want the big ten getting a toe hold in the footprint of the SEC. The big ten wants so badly to get into the SEC footprint because of recruiting. The midwest is not growing very much and is losing population in some areas. The high school football does not hold a candle to...
I am a bit surprised the SEC and the big ten can get together on much of anything. I am not sure that big ten commissioner of some years back, he retired, and Sankey would have gotten together. Perhaps times are changing....
You guys said that in the 1860s and how did that work out for you?
You need to get over it. That happened a long, long time ago....
Nebraska has achieved more than everyone in the SEC not named Alabama.
Did you know Yale used to be a national power? U of Chicago used to be a football school. Few people under the age of about 40 remember Nebraska and Dr Tom....
A story like this is shooting his credibility all to hell. Where the kid goes and plays football is of no concern to Herbstreit. Will the kid be a good QB at Neb? Who knows! When he bailed out at the last minute and signed with Nebraska I did not give it a lot of thought one way or the other. ...

re: Why did the pac 10 give up?

As I remember reading about it, the PAC could not get much at all for their TV package. Those folks are just not into college football, like this part of the country. Something I have a question about is why the big ten scooped up four of them. Their TV ratings are not going to be markedly differ...
I remember those TBS days and Jefferson Pilot. The production quality was often a joke. I think that was part of its' charm. I would set up the TV on my screen porch on warm fall Saturday afternoons and make an afternoon of it. Come to think of it, I still do that now....

re: Pathetic Ohio State Fans

I read the Ohio St smack boards. Their hatred of all things SEC is something to behold. Their fan base is very much obsessed when it comes to the SEC. As a group their knowledge of college football is rather lacking. They talk it but don't know it. I have stated it before, their fans don't know the...
I am too old to go to many live events of any kind anymore. Big screen TV works just fine. I will have to say back when I attended games, drunks made the experience less than pleasant. I went to games because I love football and wanted to see the game. I never understood people going to a game a...
I am wondering what SEC officiating is going to look like now that Saban is no longer on the sideline....
OSU has never actually lost a game. They been cheated by the refs or didn’t want to win. But never beaten.
As someone that has spent a lot of time around Bucknut fans you are spot on with that comment. Any game won by the other team was because of cheating referees. Any critical ...
Pine trees are a great investment if you live somewhere else and don't have to look at them everyday. Pine tree thickets are the epitome of low-rent Georgia skanky..
My acreage of pine trees are on a dirt road so you won't have to look at them. Nothing skanky about pine timber land...
The Big Blew and the Suckeyes do have a hard on for each other. What is funny to me is each fanbase calling the other fanbase arrogant. Having been around both of their fanbases, both fanbases are eaten up with arrogance. Kind of like Tenn and and Alabama fans calling each other rednecks. We o...
That crooked-arse judge should be locked up for showing his ugly self outside of his house. He and that AG from NY are an absolute disgrace to the legal profession....

Better jobs than A&M will come along. The culture of that place is not conducive to winning and I am not sure exactly why....
I moved from metro Atl a number of years ago(I do not miss the traffic). Thank goodness there is plenty of UGA and college football talk on the internet and Sirius. I do not miss the Falcons at all. I still get to watch the Braves on Bally sports. I watched part of a Falcon game a few weeks back ...
I absolutely believe that if Georgia falters in the SECCG the SEC will be shut out of the CFP. Going on the premise Georgia and Alabama win out the regular season. Over the years I have heard the CFP committee talk about "most deserving" and "best" teams. This year the catch phrase is "resume."...
"But Georgia ain't played nobody Pawwl."...
Michigan is about as haughty as any program on the continent. Turns out they are an outlaw program like some others. Don't look for that haughtiness to dissipate however....

Television has shown Eastern times as broadcast time from the early days of television. ...
