It should move back to Birmingham once UAB's downtown stadium is complete. Sure it will only seat 45,000 people, but more and more people are starting to stay at home and watch football games anyway.

Maybe regular season games but the Championship game has a waiting list.

In December? They typically have to resod
the field in Nashville in November because
of usage.

You ever watch NFL games on grass in a cold to moderate climate in December or January? It ain't pretty

Would never happen but i'd be ok with it being played on our beautiful college campuses. Whichever team is ranked the highest gets it. Be nice to get that extra home game after a great season. I mean LSU deserved it @home last yr after a perfect regular season.

Atlanta has always been an awful host

Atlanta had been a fantastic host.

They're the biggest city in the southeast not counting Texas.

Hosted the goddamn Olympics

Expected to host the World Cup

Has the college football hall of fame

Has the world's busiest airport which means an arse ton of traffic coming through the city

Such as? The Opry Mills Mall? Pedal taverns?

Every decent-sized city in the South had good hotels and restaurants. Nashville has absolutely zero to offer other than honky tonks and country music.

You may be retarded. Or maybe just never stepped foot off of Broadway.

Or both.

Where did you get that from?? Metro Atl has fans from all over. I think you would find some of the the largest SEC Alumni clubs, outside their home state, are in Metro Atl.

Hey dumbass, I've lived here for 15 years. So instead of spouting bullshite like you're...what did you say, "retartded"?...why don't you fricking name something that would appeal to a large number of fans on a game weekend. And again...since you're comprehension level obviously is shite...we're talking about things that make Nashville a unique draw.

Moron.

I Kind of Disagree.

I think it should rotate throughout the south.

Houston, NO, ATL, Jacksonville, Nashville. Is there still a stadium in St Louis?

Lol. I'm not wasting another second on you. Anyone with a brain knows there are tons of different things to do.

Good luck with your mental handicap.

I have lived here for 25+ years and I think that you sound like the kind of person that nobody would invite to anything

What do people do during tailgates? Go to Aquariums? Stand there sober? Honky tonks and Country Music are not all the Nashville has to offer, but they are a pretty big draw for your average SEC football fan esepcially in a tailgate setting. Hockey fans didnt seem to have a problem with it

For the record, I am aware that they would never be able to play the SECC game here unless they had a closed stadium. Which as someone mentioned before probably will probably be a long ways off

I agree with the OP. Nashville is much more family friendly. The stadium could be expanded. Football was meant to be played outside anyway.

This is a stupid idea, which is why the powers that be would never leave Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and the city's trophy case of Fortune 500 sponsors that just so happen to support college football, the SEC, and its member teams.

On a side note - On what planet does anyone here think Nashville is in the same BREATH as Atlanta/Dallas/Houston?

Those 3 cities are so far and away bigger, have better infrastructure, are wealthier, and have airport situations that blow Nashville out of the water.

GDP Ranking for each city:
#6 - Dallas
#7 - Houston
#9 - Atlanta

(about 20 feet of crap including cities like: Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, San Antonio)

#34 Nashville

Someone, please explain to me the infatuation with some people on this board with Nashville? Atlanta, Houston, Dallas host things like Olympics, Final Fours, CFB Playoff games, World Cup matches... what does Nashville host besides Country Music Shindigs? How is Broadway better than Beal St in Memphis?

Is Nashville like Mississippi/Louisiana's version of New York where all the girls from nowheresville move to "make it" and take a bunch of instagram pictures?

Just in an SEC footprint: Houston, Tampa and New Orleans are all infinitely better locations than friggin' NASHVILLE in December. FYI - that stadium is also garbage.

Perhaps but what difference does that make? Sorry,"families" usually don't attend games like the SECCG,NCG,or a Superbowl. Its usually corporate big wigs,
a group of friends or even a husband & wife.I rarely see kids around and it's usually cost prohibitive.
