Option 2: roster the players and face the wrath of the SEC.

They weren't REAL NFL players like...say Donte' Stallworth. Remember when he declared for the draft on January 10, 2002, but 4 days later he decided he wanted to come back for his Senior season. He was told that because he had submitted paperwork declaring for the draft, he forfeited his remaining year of eligibility. So...back then, just declaring for the draft made you a pro player, but now...signing a contract with an NFL team does not make you one. Makes total sense to me.
The flaw in your argument is none of these players declared for the draft. They were out of eligibility, or they thought, and had no other choice. They were automatically added. Stallworth made the concious decision to declare as an underclassmen with eligibility remainkng.

None of these players appeared on an NFL 53 man roster. You can’t say attending rookie minicamp is ok but attending preseason training camp isn’t.
You also can’t get upset over this current lawsuit when teams like Virginia have an entire starting OL made up of 6th and 7th year players. Or teams like Ole Miss shop for an Oxford friendly judge to grant Trinidad Sore Throat a 6th year of eligibility.
By letter of the NCAA bylaws, all of these players should be out of eligibility. You can’t say some are ok but others aren’t because they took a shot at the NFL (and failed) solely because they were out of eligibility. Until the NCAA changed their rules to negatively impact the freshman class of 2022 AFTER they were forced to make a decision.

So, again, if that’s the lines then Texas, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Arkansas all signed NFL players before LSU did.
You all need to make up your minds.

LSU had their back of the 22 class. Would follow whatever ruling the judge passed. LSU didnt file the lawsuit, LSU wasn’t the plaintiff. we didn’t fight it either.
The rest of you have egg on your face, you complain so much about the portal this, NIL that… guess what? This chaos forces action, rules, regulations that must be In contractual Form.

Wright has already stated his agent contacted Kiffin after the lawsuit was filed. The idea for the TRO came from Colorado, bud, try again.

Can I sue one of the SEC schools to force them to give me a roster spot?
I mean, sure, I’m in my mid-50s, haven’t suited up since the late 1980s and that was at the high school level, and I have a mechanical heart valve and a bad back. But should that matter if a local judge says they have to give me a spot on the roster? I’ve got 5 years of eligibility left.

Do you really think a single Georgia player is against this? You are confusing fan passion for team energy.
Every player in the NCAA want to make the max money, play the max time and get the max benefit.
The athletes that filed in Baton Rouge were not the 1st, the injunction issued was not the 1st, the enjoining of the team forcing them to be rostered wasn’t the 1st.
The NCAA and SEC had their day in court and could not explain what a professional or amateur is or what the 5 for 5 says. They even admitted on the stand that under the current rules the athletes were eligible.
This was not some railroading by a local judge. Neither the NCAAor SEC lawyers could explain what amateurism is.
Mizzou was enjoined two days ago forcing them to roster a player.
I didn’t read any outrage about that.

They absolutely did. They voted in favor of the rule prohibiting former NFL players from returning to play in the SEC. The vote was 16-0. Each school gets one vote.
LSU abstained from voting on the penalties. That passed 15-0.
You are wrong; LSU voted to prohibit NFL players from the SEC.
This is example 342,483 of an LSU fan getting mad about something they clearly don’t fully understand.

When the commissioner doesn’t know his own rule, can’t define a professional player, and comes up with punishments after the fact, I think everyone knew how it would geaux. By the way, if the NCAA would’ve just created the 5 for 5 and allow those guys a window to return, none of this would be happening.

You can. But because the rule impacts 2022 high school class onward (requires continuous 5 year period), I don't know what success you'd have.
