Pork is just an unappealing meat to me nowadays.. used to like it. Now about the only thing I will eat is bacon and that's a rarity as I'm not a big breakfast eater. Give me brisket all day long.

Beef isn’t BBQ, and, although brisket is delicious, most Texans can’t even cook it. They’ll brag about how Texas has the best brisket, but then you go to one of their “bbqs”, and it’s sausages and premade burger patties on a propane grill served with gimmicky “Texas BBQ Sauce”.

This is why Texas isn’t the south, and Texas A&M are losers. Jimbo Fisher cooks frozen burger patties on a george forman and calls it bbq.

BBQ is not a type of meat, it’s a cooking method

Neither.

It's a state of mind.

The word “barbecue” comes from the Caribbean word “barbacoa.” Originally, a barbacoa wasn’t a way of cooking food, but the name of a wooden structure used by Taino Indians to smoke their food. Due to the known diets of the Indians in question, it’s likely that the first barbecue consisted of some sort of fish, creatures from the sea obviously being plentiful in the Caribbean. Besides used for cooking, the structure of sticks could also be used as an area for sleeping, storage, and shelter.

So, it turns out that real BBQ is fish.

Texas has the best BBQ in the world and Houston is the BBQ capital of the world. And should we choose to invade we will close every substandard BBQ east of the Sabine and replace it with a far superior TX style joint. And you can thank us later.

Mustard based is the real Carolina bbq sauce. Vinegar based is sacrilegious heathen swill that no human being with a soul should ever consume.

The most popular and well-known BBQ spot in the entire state is Scott's in Hemingway.
