BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey was allowed to enter and leave the 19th Judicial District Court through a private entrance Thursday after threats were received in connection with the high-profile eligibility case, according to the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Sankey testified for nearly three hours at the Baton Rouge courthouse as part of a lawsuit involving athletes challenging NCAA and SEC eligibility rules.

“Given the high-profile nature of today’s proceeding and security concerns, including threats received in connection with the matter, a request was made for Commissioner Sankey to utilize an alternate entrance,” East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s spokesperson said.
