He is absolutely correct and I’m happy he feels that way. Good sign for the future of Georgia football and an indication CKS understands there is still a lot of work to be done to get Georgia football to the top.

I am a huge fan of Coach Richt, but he seemed to settle after his first 4-5 years. Doesn’t look like CKS is ready to do that.

It's gonna take putting some asses in the road...no other way around it.

Kirby needs to look in the mirror. The disease at UGA is Les Miles Syndrome... He has fallen behind the times in offensive strategy/scheme.

LSU is no expert on this but after seeing success this year after finally burning the old playbook I think we can speak from some first hand knowledge...

Absolutely true. I live in ATL and the way the media covers GA is over the top!
Yes I know the media will cover Bama the same in B'ham, but the market there is not as big and shares the market with aubarn. GT does not take away much media from GA.
I think the fans are so desperate for a title, I don't blame them, that they build up expectations on these players every year so high that it is NC or bust. They are not there, yet.

He’s spoken before about the Atlanta area kids getting so much coverage as recruits and that being a negative for their development as football players. There’s probably something to that.

Probably the same for all big ticket schools. Most don't live up to their hype, yet 30-40 year old men are hanging on their every recruitment word

This is the case at every big time program. Dabo has it figured out. So does Saban and it looks like Orgeron is figuring it out. Eventually the Coach has to stop the "disease".

So the question becomes, which players is he referring to here?

Well, there were a number of players that didn't play with "undisclosed" by their names. Start there.
Also, Pickens was showboating early in the season with one-handed catches and undisciplined play. It seems Kirby has corrected that problem.

Texas A&M has this same disease.

Kirby is completely right here. But hardly exclusive to Georgia.

Also not exclusive to football. UK and Duke (see Evansville and Stephen F. Austin) have had prima donna teams ever since the one-and-done era started.

Until LSU can prove this season isn't just a fluke, you need to hold back on the bragging.

The disease will only fester and spread if you recruit based on talent alone and disregard character.

It's hard for some coaches to tell a talented kid "no thanks" because some coaches are worried about the perception based on how good a website says a kid is. A website comprised of "scouts" that have never coached football in their life.

Not saying that applies to Kirby but you can draw your own conclusions

Again, if you live in Georgia you should not be upset that people like UGA and the media caters to that. I would bet that 95% of the UGA trolls on this board live in ATL and do not understand that very simple truth.

He copies Saban except for winning championships. Saban says the same thing every year.

one of the most accurate things ever stated about that college and it applies to everyone who is affiliated

Auburn fans are so fricking uppity and they think they're better people than everyone else solely because they're Auburn fans. It's sad.

No, the sport only needs one petulant bitch of a coach, pretending to be disrespected 24/7. Dabo has the monopoly on it.

That’s why coaching is so important because a kids with huge egos have to be de recruited and brought back down to earth when they stop on campus or they flame out ir transfer or they become a cancer. If Zach is hungry - he will succeed.

Sounds like Kirby is leaving out an integral part of recruiting. Finding high character, competitive people.

Every program that recruits high profile kids has this problem, not new. But, you can't win without talent and good talent at that.

I was impressed that Kirby had his guys ready to play last night. Last year at the Sugar Bowl was an absolute embarrassment for the program. I wonder if Kirby did not challenge his guys, during bowl practice, that if you are ready to practice and play with all you have then practice, otherwise just stay home.
