Depending on how long after he stole the truck did they find it, if he had a decent head start, you'd have to find a semi remote place and just hang out for a couple days until all the roadblocks are cancelled. Considering he's murdered someone in the past, he'll have no qualms taking a couple or a family hostage to buy him some time until he can get out of town quietly.
Falsifying his identity would seem like an uphill battle these days so what do you do?
