There are 3-4 guys that can hit pretty well, but the other 5-6 starters are ALL 8 or 9 hole hitters on a good team, at best. It's that simple.

Quite simply, it's the overflow/result of an incredibly stupid, short sighted ultra liberal culture in a state (California), that's now buried itself in incompetence and debt. The other three closest states are just where fallout will occur first (plus land's a helluva lot cheaper in them.)

Umps don't appreciate showboating. It can cause fights, or better yet, a 95 mph "smoker" deep into the left ear of that batter on the 1st pitch of his next plate appearance (that'd be my inclination).
Breaking up all this "school kid", "watch me", showoff behavior taking place around the game now would stop, if the umps would let the managers and their pitchers take care of it. :pimp:

I coached his son, Bill, in basketball, and he and his wife were fine people. They were at nearly all of his games, and were exemplary fans/parents. RIP.
