Lineup has to get better. Simple as that. Too many sub .275 hitters in the batting order
BINGO!
There are 3-4 guys that can hit pretty well, but the other 5-6 starters are ALL 8 or 9 hole hitters on a good team, at best. It's that simple.
:dunno:

This is a HUGE issue in Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and California.
Quite simply, it's the overflow/result of an incredibly stupid, short sighted ultra liberal culture in a state (California), that's now buried itself in incompetence and debt. The other three closest states are just where fallout will occur first (plus land's a helluva lot cheaper in them.)

" I've never been into the actual mechanics and playing of the sport"

You answered your own question.
Why would ANYONE start a thread that's so butt-hurt that it would shine a spotlight on their childish, simple-minded thought process?....sad.

What a shitty outcome. Ozmer looked pitiful. Coach may regret his decision to put him in when the last BP was fresh.
When the announcer said that this was gonna be Ozmer's first 2 day in a row performance, my bunghole tightened up! It was obvious that his breaking balls didn't have near the snap that they had the day before.
We can hang that L on the coaching staff.

I'd have to say the 2000 Alabama Crimson Tide tops the list for me. We came into that season with the highest of expectations. The expectations were not only unrealistic but the season itself was a catastrophe. Getting shut out by both Southern Miss AND Auburn at home on the way to an eight-loss season is not something I ever want to experience again.
I agree.
About the only thing good regarding that season was that it got Dubose out the door! Problem was that it let Franchione in!

-Home plate ump mouthing off to Jones after the walk off so he wouldn’t hurt UTs feelings.

The ump's responsible for keeping a Vol infielder from dropping his showboating arse with an overhead right, or worse the kid having to dig a 95 mph heater out of his left ear on the 1st pitch after he came back to the plate in his next at bat.

Ump was trying to prevent him from slow walking his trot.
Umps don't appreciate showboating. It can cause fights, or better yet, a 95 mph "smoker" deep into the left ear of that batter on the 1st pitch of his next plate appearance (that'd be my inclination).
Breaking up all this "school kid", "watch me", showoff behavior taking place around the game now would stop, if the umps would let the managers and their pitchers take care of it. :pimp:

Hell, I'd go after him to piss-off the paper-hangers.

no that’s not what we said we said it isn’t the sec that’s the issue it’s youth …. If our older team was in the sec the last 3 years we would cake walk just like we did in big 12 … it’s not the conference. The sec teams we faced in the World Series lost to OU. UF won one game basically vs our backups pitching it was a throw away game . I know some of you are very prideful but the only real competition for OU is Texas and it’s been that way for 3 years . Now I will say if the young guys don’t start hitting like they did earlier in the year then it’s anyone’s game . Look at OUs record is it really that bad 5 losses lol. We just are not historic like we have been. Give us one more year and we will be again . The number one pitcher in the country is redshirting .
I think that somebody's...whistling while walking past the graveyard at night!
It looks like Holloway's talked him into coming cross-state to the Tide...that'll be an interesting backcourt next year.
I coached his son, Bill, in basketball, and he and his wife were fine people. They were at nearly all of his games, and were exemplary fans/parents. RIP.

Why would you want to keep someone like that in your program??
The better question is why would any coach want to sign a kid/family to come in and contaminate their program?
Was the Tommy Nichols mentioned in the article from Tuscaloosa?
What did I say about Coonass fans posting crap like this thread!
Speaking of going off, why don't you give that a try L'il Willie?
