It bugs me that the media doesn't talk more about the Michigan-Harbaugh-Stallions scandal.

That's as bad as cheating gets imo and is a huge black eye for the sport. All swept under the rug. They even swept the next coaches domestic violence rampage under the rug. The program clearly knew what was going on but didn't want to damage their recruiting class. The reporters and media should be bringing this up regularly. Reggie Bush had his heisman taken away for some minor cash payments, but not even a slap on the wrist for big blue. Shameful.

Michigan's AD pussed out massively during covid and completely and absolutely bungled the final 4-team playoff. The dude is a fricking clown and couldn't administrate his way out of a paper bag.

I enjoyed the Netflix “Untold” documentary on Stallions. That is really the only time I saw Stallions tell his side. He was a fanatic for Michigan Football and would do anything to help them win. And did help them.

Maybe at one time Nick Saban was untouchable. But I don’t think liberal writers like Alabama.

We never get away with any of this kind of stuff. We lost a coach and got a post season bowl ban because players traded their own property for tattoos. I'd really like to know what competitive advantage discounted tattoos provide on the football field. I think the players were incredibly dumb for doing that because they probably would like to have their trophies and rings later in life, but it has nothing to do with football or recruiting.
We can discuss USC too, I don't think they really get away with anything either though.
I will give the sec teams credit though, they're smart enough to tell the ncaa to frick off, same plan Michigan used. The ncaa really only has power if you turn over the evidence to them. The teams that get punished the hardest are always the ones that cooperate with the ncaa. If you stonewall them there isnt really anything they can do.

Ohio State and USC both went down for minor infractions in the 2000s. Notre Dame, i believe, does uphold their honor to a high level. It's really just Michigan getting away with poor behavior.

When you think about the number of abuse scandals that have occurred at Big 10 programs but get scant sports media attention, this should not surprise you. Just a small sampling:
2007–2008: Iowa football sexual abuse arrests
2011: Penn State Sandusky sexual abuse
2018: MSU and Michigan cover-up of athlete sexual assault
2018: Ohio State wrestling sexual abuse scandal, involving a current US representative
2023: Northwestern ritualized hazing scandal
2023: Michigan State Mel Tucker sexual harassment
1968–2003 revelations: Michigan doctor Robert Anderson abuse
If any one of these occurred at an SEC institution, Big 10 media types would be screaming from the rooftops.

I’d never heard of some of those but Sandusky and the northwestern were very big news stories at the time, especially Sandusky, I don’t think there’s anyone who casually watches sports that didn’t hear about Sandusky.

This is a huge pet peeve for me. They let North Carolina give athletes bogus As for sham classes then punished them with a national basketball championship. They let Michigan cheat their way to an undefeated season then punished them with a national football championship. If you have any doubt about it, watch the Stalions doc on Netflix. Highly probable that South Carolina benefitted from the same cheating since they were in the file sharing network.

It was huge news, but the Big 10 never really commented on it much, and the story has never really been placed into the context of abuse at multiple Big 10 schools. No one, as far as I'm aware, has ever put a Big 10 commissioner to the question regarding abuse culture.

I think there is so much going on that there is information overload...
It's not just Michigan that's out of control, its the whole sport...
