I hope never, but it'll be some combination of North Carolina and Virginia schools if it happens. UNC would be our top target.
1. Tennessee
2. Arkansas
3. Texas
4. Missouri
5. Rest of South

Wait, Kiffin was already Texas 8&4's daddy, and now Keith Carter is their daddy too? How many Ole Miss daddies do they have?

Michigan set to offer LSU QB commit 10.5 million

First, no one's getting $10.5 million. Those are rumors being spread by people who have an interest in making these numbers look far bigger than reality.

Second, if you need to offer a QB $10.5 million to come to your place, it just goes to show how hard it is to get anyone to come to your place.
I think this is weird, but they've had weird before.

I'm not sure this goes for the audience they're supposedly looking for, but it's their call.

I miss when Auburn A&M started playing, the visiting team used to win the game. And Auburn fans had belief that even when the Aggies were ranked higher, they were going to give us the business.

Then Gus was fired and the Harsin years, and the current now…and watching Auburn fans go from confident they could upset teams to now apathetic or just to a, “we probably won’t win this one” type spirit is disheartening.

But Freeze is recruiting well, and the talent is young. If he can hold on to his key players another 2-3 years, and bring in the recruits he has now, that’s a stout team on paper.

You hate to see it.

But more than that, you love to see it.
Looks like Texas is starting to truck them in from Starkville
They're not as weird as you think, but then again, how could they be?
The last I saw OU was about a 4 point favorite. Dirt burglars cover easily.
Put the wheels back on the house, mama! We goin to Texas!
IMO, these are the players that have gotten hurt the worst from the transfer portal rule. There's just no reason for a high D1 program to roll the dice on most of these guys now if you can get a guy who's just as good from a G5 program who doesn't have discipline or grade issues.

Do you know what was in Spurrier's contract? Did he have to compensate the school for games not coached? Or did he just not get paid for the remainder of his contract? I'm sure there was something in it to keep him from completely breaching it.

The problem I have with the kid quitting is, his beef wasn't with his team and University but whoever his NIL deal was with. And yet he quit on his team.

People quit and take their talents on the labor market all of the time. This market is like any other. It is not special or unique.

On Rocky Top. Travis is a tool, but that book is pretty good.

When a coach like the Old Ball Sack, Steve Spurrier, quits on his team mid-season. He gets a pass?

That's correct. The free market should only work when it pleases us.
quote:

You're going to ask taxpayers, students, boosters, etc to spend maybe 50-100 million more per year at a big program and probably tens of millions at a G5.

They're not going to do it long term. Regular parents and voters are going to revolt against paying more for their business major to go to school so that the NIL fund can pay some random 5 star that isn't even going to stay next year.

Then the free market will speak and that practice will end.
Posters: I HATE SOCIALISM! SOCIALISM IS BAD! NO MORE REGULATIONS! WHY WON'T THEY LET THE FREE MARKET COOK?

Also Posters: THE FREE MARKET IS EATING THE THING I LOVE! WE NEED RULES AND REGULATIONS AND GUARDRAILS AND ALL THE THINGS! IT'S THE WILD WEST! [faints]

Not sure if Kiffin will ever win a natty, but he wins social media every day.
