NFL - Patriots (Although last year it was the Broncos)

Smart choice but Dallas might not be a bad option for just this year

NBA - Cavaliers (But I might root for Golden State this year depending on how they do)

Ya, I will make my final decision on who I like more in late June

MLB - Cubs fan this year

Normally a Yankee's fan but started rooting for the Cubs in October

Anyone can be a fan, and I'm not gonna tell someone otherwise. However, I've noticed that for many fans with no investment in the school besides rooting for the football team, they're more likely to not GAF about how they represent the logo on their hat or shirt. They're like the Bronze Package of fans...

I say if you're 18 years or older(out of high school), you have to be a student or a graduate to be a fan of a college team.

So if your kid grew up a Mizzou fan but does well enough in life to attend an Ivy League school or school that is top in their specific major they can no longer be a Mizzou fan?

Because you should totally base your life track on the majors offered at the school of your favorite football/basketball team.

What if one of the first things you ever said was "Roll Tide", do you really have a choice?

What if I'm an LSU fan for everything (I graduated from there) and a UK basketball fan (except when they play LSU)? Always liked UK since I was a kid because my Grandmother played basketball there and her whole side of the family went to school there.

Fan: short for fanatic. True fanatics don't need a reason or a definition.

A college is a business. Engaging in a business transaction doesn't force one to be a fan. I know many people who attended one school while being a fan of the football program of a different school.

I think for most people it really only becomes an issue when the real idiots try to parade the athletic successes of 18-23 year olds as validation that they are better than someone else.

Been an Auburn fan my whole life. Was offered a D-II football scholarship which covered everything. I still remember standing in the huddle of my small school when the PA guy announced Auburn had upset Florida back in the day over the sound system. I smiled.

Never felt like I wasn't an Auburn fan but my DNA limited where I could get a full ride. I do regret not being able to consider myself an Auburn Man. Something only an Auburn graduate would understand.

5 states in the SEC don't have an NFL team. You won't catch me buying a cowboys jersey any time soon.
