Growing old alone is not healthy. Just being around family is good for you, but someone to share the journey with is better as long as you get along. Men especially isolate when they retire.

Just live close to the hospital or the police headquarters and you won’t be down very long. High priority locations.

It’s a federal program. It’s can run a deficit just like every other federal program. I do think it will be reformed with the retirement age increased or the payouts reduced. You can also increase the cap so higher earners pay more.

As for the 401K numbers I wonder how many people still have pensions.

Not true for me. I have one kid on the spectrum so all three will get a nice inheritance. My brother will probably spend most of his but his millennial daughter is already richer than he ever was.

So 60% of us didn’t. Don’t lump all Boomers into one category. Only about 20% of us were hippies (probably less). My kids all graduated college debt free and will inherit a significant amount from me. In fact millennials will inherit the greatest wealth transfer in history.

This really isn’t knew. Parents have helped with down payments for decades. Maybe it happens more now but prices are much higher.
