That game was bad news for your Gamecocks for sure. I remember reading about it in the papers. That was a year when it seemed nobody could stay undefeated except BYU who beat a below average Michigan team in a meaningless bowl game to win the MNC.

It was the 99 team. I remember because I was commuting between Chicago and lower Michigan that season.
