If Bama and Utah both win out, how do you justify Bama over conference champ Utah?

Not trolling.

both have 1 quality loss. Utes will have the extra quality game and a Conference championship.

What is the argument for Bama, in that scenario?

I'm not going to argue either way but acting like USC and LSU are equal losses is a bit silly. And Utah's best win will be 10-3 Oregon while Alabama's will be 8-4 Auburn (who beat Oregon). So.....I dunno.

I think most think that a 1-loss P12 winner goes over us. Last night just created a chance that a 2-loss team wins that league. Before it was guaranteed the P12 Title Winner had 1 loss and was in, now it isn't

Not equal, but quality.

I believe Bama is the better team but if they don’t put in Utah it would be a terrible look on the committee. Both a one loss team but one wins their conference championship game. They would be sending the message that winning the conference championship game doesn’t matter.

Now if Bama actually beaut more than one top 25 team maybe it would be different but auburn would have 5 losses after that game? Just wouldn’t look good at all.

A loss to 8-4 USC is not a "quality loss". That's silly. It's not a deathnail to a resume but it's not a good loss.

I highly suspect Utah will go over Bama in this hypothetical to be honest.

Bama getting in over OU, you can easily justify though, because just watch OU play.

I’m really thinking Georgia wins in Atlanta and both LSU and UGA get in along with Slowhio St and Clemson. Also, will you people please quit assuming Bama is automatically winning the Iron Bowl. That usually spells doom.

How many quality wins does Alabama have? Do rent a wins against 1AA schools count?

I don't, no non-Conference champion has any business in the CFP.

Bama would have ZERO wins against teams with winning SEC records. And a bad loss at home where they were down by three touchdowns at half against the only team they played with a winning conference record. And their all-world QB is out. Chew on the reality of all that and then tell me how that trumps a one loss conference championship team.

You cant justify it however if they ask themselves who would win on a neutral site its Bama by 100.

No way Bama gets in over a one loss PAC12 champ. Committee chair is a PAC12 homer. He’s probably in mourning over Oregon’s collapse yesterday.

Which has pretty much been the only criteria they have consistently followed

Bama doesn't deserve to go this year. I think Mac is serviceable enough, with our playmakers, to score points. But not at the clip Tua did. And that doesn't bode well with this defense.

So? Bama would probably beat Utah. That would be true even with a loss to Auburn next weekend.

Would you put Bama in over Utah in that case?

Does it really matter?

Neither can beat LSU in the 1-4 matchup.
