The first cocktail, the Sazerac, was invented in New Orleans.
The evolution of the Sazerac began with Antoine Amédée Peychaud, a Haitian-born apothecary who migrated to New Orleans sometime during the Haitian Revolution. Peychaud opened up his own drug store around the end of the 1830s (the exact year is up for debate), where he sold his own bitters to an eager client base. He also mixed his signature product with brandy in an egg-shaped cup called coquetier, a name that is often falsely attributed to the etymology of the word cocktail.
New York and London both try to claim to be first, but we know better!

Western Canada needs to free itself from the dying corpse of socialist Ontario and Quebec. Canada has been on a slow socialist decline for over a decade. Their downfall will accelerate after the “elbows up” negotiation style causes more tariffs this year.
Whether they form independent nations, band together, or join the U.S. is unimportant at this time. Separation is essential for their wellbeing!

Liberals are actually very provincial, and do not tolerate any opposing view points.

Wow Bbobalou!
You must feel like a real loser after the Bad Orange man still kicked your candidates arses after the DNC/MSM Political Complex spent all that time, money, and effort trying to prevent his comeback.
The Democrats held kangaroo courts all over the country trying to make Trump a political prisoner! But the American voters overwhelmingly FREED him from Democrat political tyranny and incompetence!
Hope you sleep as well, and smile as much as I do!

You mean another Ole Miss leak to try and screw over LSU is wrong? Shocker.
On Locked on LSU, Matt Moscona, has previously said that Ole Miss is so butt-hurt that they will do all things fair and fowl to get back at Kiffin. They will hire as many former LSU coaches and players as possible, and they will target Louisiana for future recruits.
He claimed today, that Ole Miss was the source of the Weiss to the Giants rumor in an effort to keep Brendan Sorbsy from signing with LSU. He further claimed that the source was Eli Manning.
Moscona is not gospel, but I’d love to learn the source.
Ole Miss is also depleting its cash on paying present players not to go to LSU.
The Chambliss pay off and announcement is also an anti-LSU response. But this has the distinct possibility of biting them on their butt-hurt arses. If he is declared ineligible after all the good portal QBs are taken, they end up with nothing.
“Hell hath no furry like a woman scorned, or Ole Miss, but that’s redundant.”

Let them celebrate.
They were the better coached team on the field. They were the less talented but plucky team on the field that won.
Yes this LSU team was substandard.
Yes this team had much of its talent not even on the team.
But this LSU team was beaten on the field by an inferior team.
The defense played undisciplined and gave up 15 yard penalties like Halloween candy.
The offense scored points, but couldn’t consistently run the ball, and gave up too many sacks.
Special teams scored a touchdown, but missed a field goal. And, they failed to recover an onside kick that was gift wrapped with their names on it.
But unlike UAB or Troy, this loss was expected. These Tigers were never a team this year. They never gelled. They never functioned as a team. They were talented individuals but never a team. And that’s coaching and individual selfishness.
Fortunately this team was shedding problems throughout the season from firings to portal defections.
We have a new staff that hopefully can create a team with the leftovers and new recruits.
Let Houston have their night. This is a storied win for them. But at the same time pity them, because this was there finest moment, and like UAB and Troy, they will never see its like again.
LSU has sucked before, sucks now, and will have sucky years again. But, LSU has been great before, and will be great again. And that’s something the joyous Houston fans will never know.
Let them celebrate their earned pinnacle of success, and pity their reality that they will never reach this height again.
And let us remember this feeling of disgust as we do UAB and Troy so that we truly appreciate the National Championships that will follow Houston as those that followed the other two embarrassments.

re: Has the sugar industry become exploitative in south Louisiana?

Farmers burn sugarcane fields before harvest to clear away dry leaves and tops, making it easier and cheaper to harvest the sugar-rich stalks. This practice creates significant air pollution and particulate from the burning of the organic matter and all pesticides/herbicides sprayed in those fields......but environmental regulators look the other direction for the sugar industry.
You should see the pollution I put out from my smoked Thanksgiving turkey, smoked sausage, smoked pork and beef. I put out a lot on my bbq pit, and don’t even start on the fire place or pit!
Trash is burned legally in much of rural America.
Also lightning, Indians, and settlers have been burning the Southeast for thousands of years. Many ecosystems depend upon it.
Get a clue and hold on tight to it.

Millions of buffalo trampled the state but suddenly cattle ranchers are killing the grouse.
I find that hard to believe.
And what percentage of the land has a structure or road on it?
When you say likely due to, it means you’re likely opposed to what you see as the likely culprit since you really don’t know.

The opposite of inflation is contraction known as depression. He doesn’t want that.
Unless you remonetize your money, you cannot put the inflation genie back in the bottle.
What you want is for earnings to outgrow inflation. This just happened in the last quarter, but the Democrat shutdown delayed its reporting.
And, Trump has been in office less than a year. He hit the ground running eliminating the Democrat economic malfeasance under Biden. The first fruits we’ve lower gas prices. Maybe tell him he can pay more for bread with the the savings from the gas pump?
More are occurring now. That is why pay is starting to surpass inflation.
But the main parts of his agenda will not bear fruit until 2026.
Finally if he listens to the leftist democrat biased mainstream media, he will come away with a pessimistic view of the world as a whole and America in the particular. This is due to their focusing on the negative when a Republican in the White House. They promote the negative and suppress the positive news. This is even worse with Trump because they will even make shite up. Just looking at the millions he’s collected from them in defamation lawsuits!
The opposite occurs when Democrats are in charge. For example, homelessness magically goes away when a Democrat takes office because the DNC/MSM Political Complex ceases reporting it. But comes slamming back in under a GOP administration as they report it wall to wall.

re: Non-Playoff Bowl Games useless.
Posted by Gaspergou202 on 12/26/25 at 10:23 am to tiger375
Bowl games were originally a treat/reward for the invited teams and a money maker for the tourist economy of the city hosting.
TV led an expansion in 50s-70s, and cable allowed even more to start from the 80s on up.
The playoff push and expansion has jaded the average fan, however they still make money for the host.
But the players aren’t the same. There was more love of the game by the players. It was a bonus game. Now it’s an economic decision even to play, or an emotional tantrum to decline if snubbed for the playoffs.

B) the whole blocking scheme is based off of RPO blocking, or way too much of it.
I think this is a large contributing factor.
Pass blocking is more passive with emphasis on positioning and footwork.
Run blocking is more aggressive making early contact and driving the defender out with leg and upper body strength.
The downfall of our run game was defenders controlling the line of scrimmage and penetration.
