Not trolling.

both have 1 quality loss. Utes will have the extra quality game and a Conference championship.

What is the argument for Bama, in that scenario?

I guess the committee would have to decide/debate if this current Alabama team is better than Utah.

I seem to remember a #6 Utah playing a highly favored #4 Alabama team in the 2009 Sugar Bowl. How did that work out?

USC isn't a quality loss.

Utah's schedule has been awful too

Bama would win the Pac-12 if they were in that conference.

Utah would have several losses if they played in the SEC.

Not all conferences are equal, so a team winning a weak conference doesn't automatically get a playoff spot.

Auburn beat Oregon, so a win over Auburn is a better win then a win over Oregon.

Birmingham is the best television market in college football, Utah is a shite television market for college football.

Ask Ohio State about that 31 pt loss to
7-5 Iowa

yeah, that SECOND LOSS is exactly why they didn't make the playoffs.

Bama is better than Utah and UGA that is clear. Georgia doesn't have any Wrs that can get separation and their QB has regressed in an ineffective offensive system.

maybe. We also have 3 wins over teams in the top 16. Bama is 0-1 against ranked teams and best case scenario would have 1 ranked win all season over a team with 4 losses. We're ahead of bama becuase of our resume and our wins on the field, not because of the stupid "eye test" thank goodness.

I’m really thinking Georgia wins in Atlanta and both LSU and UGA get in along with Slowhio St and Clemson. Also, will you people please quit assuming Bama is automatically winning the Iron Bowl. That usually spells doom.
will you quit acting as if people assuming the iron bowl winner has any impact on the game?

In the scenario, if Bama gets in, its due to 1) the pedigree and sustained success of the program and 2) the fact that Bama would be expected to beat Utah in a head-to-head match-up.

When Bama was a gnat’s arse from playing Oklahoma for the national championship instead of Utah in a consolation game. Bowl games are often won by the team most excited to be there.

Bama had 11 wins and Ohio State had 11 wins, a division championship, and a conference championship, but guess what? Losses matter.

A your resume also goes along with a background check and unfortunately you have a felony conviction for embezzlement on it with that Carolina loss.

Your resume also has struggle wins on it. The ND game is your saving grace and the fact ACC sent Duke to the kickoff classic.

The eye test is the human element without it way may as well let the computers decide.

Utah will go and I will have no problem with it. Shame two of best teams are in same division in a conference but if Bama and Utah played I feel like Bama wins easily

And yet it's happened twice in the five seasons we have had it.

Do you want to know something? Every player on Alabama's roster was either in middle school or elementary school when that game was played.

That's how long ago it has been.

Just trying to clarify in advance, you'll be okay with a 13-1 LSU losing to UGA sitting out of the playoffs and a potential Baylor or 2-3 loss Oregon in the playoffs?

Hilariously, one of Bama’s 4 losses in Louisiana in the Saban era. Wanna know how many are from LSU?

I don’t buy the conference championship argument. All conferences are not equal. The top 2-3 teams in the SEC West are usually better than the PAC 12 champ. The point is to get the 4 best teams in the country. I don’t care if they’re all in the same conference. The Bama-UGA all-SEC game was one of the greatest NC games ever.

You don't. Bama's not making it over a one-loss conference champion. They need Oregon to beat Utah in the Pac 12 Conference Championship Game, OU to lose Bedlam next week and then beat Baylor in the Big 12 Championship Game. If all of those dominoes don't fall, they're done.
