Possible. He was noticeably emotion during the post game interview with Jalen at his side.
Because he has finally settled tf down and is enjoying the job more than he ever has.

This guy isn't even close to retiring.

No. And here's why. Saban wants to do 2 things that have never been done before. Win 7 titles and break his tie with The Bear. That happens this year. THEN he wants the last college FB albatross remaining....win 3 titles in a row. It's never been done before but with a young team all coming back next year AND a junior Tua, you bet your arse he wants that 3rd one in a row. Then and only then can someone reasonably say they think he will retire.

Saban is a good ole boy from West Virginia. He'll stop when he feels he can't do it anymore. So you're all fricked for at least 5 more years IMO.

Only if Tua pops his L5, otherwise he at least hangs through Tua's departure.

If he wins this year, he'll wait to try to win 3 in a row next year.

A win this year would tie the bear for titles at bama and put him 1 up overall

Why would he? If he wins it all this year he is set up next year for a 3 peat and to get 7 titles at Alabama which would beat Bear.

Now if that happens he might hang it up next year

Tua has at least one more year and Tua's brother will have 3 years and he is even better then Tua is. SEC is fricked for the next 5 years, sorry.

I think he is just getting older and starting to appreciate more of what he has in life. Nothing wrong with that.

Saban loves Jalen like a son apparently. He has never been like this with any player I can remember.

Saban wants the all-time wins record in I-A. He also wants multiple more national titles.

Bama people...where is saban at this moment (not looking at the upcoming playoffs) in relation to bears titles? Do yall think that that is one of the major driving factors for saban? Like can you see a scenario where saban wins one more title than bear then hangs it up?

No...I think he will coach until he realizes he can't do it anymore....or do it to the exacting standards

I can see Saban stepping down after 2 more NCs. The next one will put him #1 overall with seven and would put distance between him and everyone else. Two NCs would put him at #1 at Bama with seven to the Bear’s six.

However, if we’re still rolling, why would he want to stop coaching? What’s he gonna do with all of that time?

Thinking?

I think you mean “hoping”!

Saban will die on the sideline; be reanimated using technology from Area 51, and we will be under his domain until the rapture.

I figure if I set this as the expectation, I won’t be disappointed when he does not retire in 15 or 25 years.

Now that Paterno had his vacated wins restored, his 409 wins is out of realistic reach for Saban.

It Saban were able to get 2 more this year he'd have 238. That's 171 behind Paterno. He could go 15-0 the next 11 years straight and he would still be 6 wins away.

He's going to coach the Cowboys ... or is it the Browns? No, Texas Longhorns!

This crap never stops.
