No updates from my one source since my post from the other day. Once Saban turned us down ( no surprise) it's been very quiet. The inner most group of those in the know appear to be circling the wagons so to speak on info. If I hear something I'll post it, if not I'll just enjoy the banter on here like everyone else.

Hopefully the insane rumors of crazy re-treads from Kingsbury to Chip Kelly aren't true. I'd like to see someone young but with some skins on the wall as a head coach get a shot. The head guys at USF, N. Texas and a few other places intrigue me. Load them up with a heavily incentive based contract give them a big NIL budget and let some young guy with fire eat.

Fingers crossed LA politics doesn't screw it up.

Spoke to the guy I know yesterday. Saban is out, turned LSU's offer down. On Plan B I have nothing as of this morning

Some have said the Saban thing is a double secret probation smoke screen but I haven't heard that. If it really is Saban then my source is either lying (doubtful) or is getting smoked off the trail to keep things under wraps.

However, if everything I've been told is face value (and I have no reason to suspect otherwise) the Saban ship has sailed. LSU took its best shot and he turned it down.
If I'm wrong I'll eat my crow and probably get banned by Chicken, haha.

From what I gathered Schroyer and Rousse have a good relationship and Schroyer and Will Wade have a good relationship.

...my own personal feelings, I suspect Rousse plans to move him up to full AD if Verge doesn't work out. Verge has some baggage and seems like a shoot from the hip hire. He may be on a shorter leash than some.

Yeah, that's the only part that makes wonder if we're all getting double smoke screened about Saban.

My source said Saban flat turned down an LSU offer today. It makes the most sense, and is what everyone in their gut knew would probably be true but the UA hire is at least interesting.

Will do. So far I have no info on a plan B. They've gotten a lot done over the past 36hrs or so getting some pieces in place. Now that their focus can be turned strictly to the HC search I'm hoping a solid candidate that will excite the fan base emerges quickly. No lazy hires.

The Wade stuff is strictly relationship based. Contractually, prestige wise, how it ended with LSU, none of it makes sense. This desire to bring him back is because LSU fans would welcome him back, he does have some feelings for the people of LA in general and McNeese was good to him and now some of those same people would be his bosses again.
Can/will LSU swing for the fences like they did with Kim Mulkey....there are some with a big enough stick who just might. But HC of football comes first. The Pear?.....Hopefully next.
