Washington is NOT a quality opponent. They are about on par with Louisville. Miami is a top 20 team and will look great on a playoff resume. Simple as that.
I find it fascinating the lengths to which people get so consumed with personal biases that they abandon objectivity and use confusing, laughably flawed logic to arrive at favorable conclusions while arguing unquestionable absolutes to support their preferred narrative. As I consider emotional impulse to be a clear weakness which contradicts and directly inhibits rationality, I view this method of thought to be inherently untrustworthy and therefore a logical handicap.

For me, these reactionary feelings should be suppressed like any other counterproductive basic instinct. In any decision I try to identify and mitigate the emotionally driven aspects as much as possible, with the ultimate priority of maintaining perspective. So many people seemingly never consider this methodology so often that I actually question whether I’m taking the wrong approach or if it’s even natural to be aware of such things.

TLDR; I guess we disagree man

LSU fan here but this is simply absurd!

Miami and Washington IMO are overrated. If Miami and Washington faced each other I do think Washington’s D would eat Miami alive. I will say Washington does have a very strong defense. I forgot how many starters they returned on D from last season but it was a good bit

Take the Purple and gold blinders off man. Washington certainly is not on Louisville level lol

LSU was firmly in control from the first quarter on even when Miami showed some life in the 4th. The same cannot be said of AU against UW.

I don't think you watched the game. Before Washington's last drive of the first half, total yardage was something like 266 to 82.

And on the last 2 drives of the game, AU took it the length of the field to score, then shut Washington out on downs.

Miami's QB was pretty terrible, he completed just over 40% of his passes, and many of his incompletions were badly thrown passes.

I thought LSU looked good. Defensive line was getting after it, and Burrows seems to be a nice fit.

Congrats on the nice win, looking forward to a slugfest in a couple weeks:

LSU looked really good....much better than I expected and while it is hard to tell, I saw fewer/less severe issues for LSU than AU...we have a legit OL problem and a few other more minor issues. NOT going to be a cakewalk. Based on game one, we have our hands full with LSU and I'm shocked at that fact.

How in the world was I able to see above just fine while also seeing that Washington is a very good football team and Miami is trash? That's no knock on LSU...it's not LSU's fault that Miami sucked.

In fact, they returned 9 starters from a defense that finished 5th in the country last year. They are legit.

None of them are better players than Gerald Willis III.

one of the better D's last season

In the PAC 10... bunch of softies. Don’t try to compare them to SEC D’s. Not in the same hemisphere.

I think it’s better to say Miami looked a lot worse then Washington on the field rather trying to distinguish between LSU and Auburn yet.

Auburn’s got more talent then LSU, and Stidham is the best or second best QB in the Conference. I see them winning by 10 over LSU with the eyeball test, but I’ll root for LSU

Miami looked terrible. I was unimpressed. They may have the athletes, but lack discipline that keeps them from competing on a high level.

Washington, on the other hand, looked disciplined, yet lacked the number of athletes to compete for 60 minutes against a quality team.

Louisville was just OK. They'll win a few games this year, but will not challenge many top 25 teams.
