That 2023 class leaving outside of Mk didn’t matter. They all were not good outside of MK. Velez and ADR can’t even see any type of minutes at their new schools. That class was a recruiting evaluation issue


2025 class only of significance leaving was Bella which was a money and wanted starting minute promises her dad wanted. LSU couldn’t promise the things they wanted. Divine struggled immensely in all areas, while she had talent she had a long way to go to even get minutes in the future. The other issue is she didn’t take to hard coaching well at all… LSU wasn’t the program for her unfortunately if she couldn’t take criticism/tough coaching. I’m not convinced she’ll really play at Illinois

Mulkey PR isn’t the best to say the least

In the WBB world despite being a 4 time national champion as a HC, even more as a assistant and player, she is depicted in such a negative light in the wbb community

She is made out to be “homophobic” due to the BG issue at Baylor, heartless, etc by the media. Look at the amount of hit pieces written on her the last 3 years. Including that Washington post article leaked in middle of their NCAAT run.

You can go look at comments on anything social media related and it’s almost always very negative in regards to mulkey. Recruits and their parents 100% see the rhetoric and the talking points

I’m not saying these talking points are right or fair but the publicity and the light Kim is depicted as certainly doesn’t help in regards to HS kids and where parents are as big of the decision making process.

Then you add in the Koval debacle just weeks before officials started. It was a PR nightmare that certainly didn’t do any favors


They’ll need to make some in-house evaluations on their approach to HS kids and their families imo. They usually never have any issue getting kids to campus but they’ll need to go to the drawing board to figure out where they are not reaching recruits or their families to get them committed. This class there is zero issues with money or playing time, it’s there for the taking.


I know they signed a great 2025 class but 3 of the last 4 classes outside of that one, LSU has landed only 3 commits and two of those are from LA. Hopefully they go overseas and add a high end player, there is a lot of talent overseas. The portal with the 5 for 5 should allow for their to be more talent available than historically but moving into 28 they have to get back to landing high end HS prospects. It’s hard to land top portal kids and build continuity on so many transfers year after year. In WBB it’s improved but parity is still not close to the mens. It’s The Who and who hasn’t. The programs with the top talent rise to the top, those who don’t sink usually

I heard they in contact with a few kids from Europe but portal wise yes they’ll have to replace MK and Fulwiley from the portal this off-season

Still don’t know for sure if Laila, Morro or Jada will be back tho they could return so it’ll be a very interesting offseason…

They hosted 8 players last year and barely pulled Lola. They have struggled a bit in HS ranks. 2025 was excellent but even after the natty 2024 they only landed Jada


Mulkey hasn’t been able to pull near close the same level of HS talent consistently compared to Baylor days where she generally had 2-3 McDonald’s AA every year


We will see soon. Qandace may be the last option. I still haven’t heard much to feel confident in Ivanna, think Maryland still leads the pack there.


For Qandace, VT, Rutgers, Texas, Nc St seem like the primary schools lsu has to beat out

Let me ask but the teams who seem to be heaviest in the mix for Samuels is LSU, VT, Rutgers. Texas is there but heard they exactly at the top of the list but that can change with money


Samuels was #3 in all AAU in scoring, she is a crafty 6’2 wing who can score at all 3 levels and she is efficient. If they can find a way to get her to go with Caroline that’s two top 10 players. She would start day 1 IMO

In the end quality matters. Like Madi Mignery would have been a good add but she would been a depth piece. In order to contend for final fours you need high level players that’s why you see all the top programs gunning for the same 20 kids yearly

Jada was chasing a bag 100%. She actually lied to mulkey, told her she was back then left two weeks later.

And it’s really a shame because mulkey identified her at an early age and invested in her when no other top programs would because she didn’t play for one of the big AAU teams/circuits, and jada develops significantly at lsu. No one has loyalty anymore

Qandace Samuel’s top 10 recruit arrived to campus last night and is on her official visits

Teams LSU will have to fend off for her services includes VT, Rutgers, Texas, and maybe Vandy

The good news is she may retire soon
