re: Kentucky is better than Auburn in football
Posted by Tiger n Miami AU83 on 11/14/18 at 4:06 am
No.
Kentucky sucks in football. They were not even competitive against UGA at home in literally their biggest home game ever. Their win against Mizzou was the biggest fluke of the year by far in the SEC. Mizzou literally gave them the game. Kentucky is a 6-4 football team against a weak schedule. Washington would beat both beat them by 20 and AtM would beat them worse if they played again, and in case you forgot we beat both of those teams.
UK will be a top 5ish basketball team by tourney time as well.
Wrong on both counts.

Additionally, here is some more perspective about why last Tuesday was a huge wipeout for the GOP (aside from the 15% swing in the overall electorate away from Republicans and the fact the idiot bafoon in the white house claimed victory - HUGE LOL)...
1. 40 seat gain in the House. That is huge. Made even more impressive by the GOP gerrymandering after the 2010 census after which Dems thought they had no chance to control the house until after the 2020 census.
2. The flipping of 7 states governors. The Dems will undo the majority of the GOP gerrymandering in 2 years with the 2020 census.
3. Despite trumps claims to the contrary, even the results in the Senate elections last week were a total beatdown of the GOP. Right now, as things stand, the GOP picked up 1 seat with a max of 2 seats or even a loss of 1 seat possible depending on the FL recount and MS runoff. This is unbelievably bad. The GOP had a historically good Senate map. Dems defending 26 seats, 10 in states Trump won and GOP only defending 9. That kind of map in a normal election should have netted the GOP 10-12 seats. Instead they are up 1 seat. And it gets worse for them. Much worse...
In 2020, the GOP is defending 22 Senate seats, including several in stated Hillary won. The Dems are defending 12. The Senate will flip to the Dems in 2 years, the only question is whether it will be a supermajority (doubtful).
Then it gets worse still for the GOP...
In 2022, the GOP will have 21 seats up for reelection vs 12 for the Dems. By 2022 the Dems will almost certainly have a supermajority.
So to recap, Dems have the house and will be undoing much of the 2010 gerrymandering in 2 years. The Senate will flip in 2 years and be in Dem hands for at least 6 years after. The Dems will have the white house with ease in 2 years if trump runs again (IMO).
Trump has assfricked the GOP worse than anyone in history. It's going to leave a mark for a very long time. The number of voters he has driven away from the GOP in just 2 years is extraordinary.
I said this would happen two years ago when he was elected. I'm sorta a good example of why as well. I didn't even vote in the 2016 election (I know I suck but I never really cared about politics). I voted straight Dem last Tuesday. There are a lot of people like me as well.

On an episode of pawn stars a few years ago, some guy had some valuable comics signed by Stan Lee.
Rick said the comics might actually be worth more without the signature. He said for years and years and until recently, Lee would travel to every comic con or comic book show around the country to sign anything because he needed the money.

Funny, considering Republicans have gerrymandered this country to hell and back. Maybe when Republicans stop suppressing voter’s rights, this can stop.
I think Republicans are basically done as a viable political party. For decades. I think it's almost a certainty the Dems will control all of government in two years. The Senate map for the GOP in 2020 is one of the worst ever for them. Trump is going to get humiliated if he runs in 2020 (he may not after the Dems get through investigating him or he may run just to try to stay out of jail after he leaves office). And the Dems will still have the House.
Florida is turning blue and maybe staying that way with the restoration of the 1.4M peoples voting rights that Rick Scott has prevented for the past 8 years.
Texas is very close to going purple then blue, same as Georgia.
I said it before last Tues, trump has totally ruined the Republican party and he embarrasses himself daily. I said the Dems would gain 35-40 seats in the house and it looks like they will have gained 40 seats in the house, 7 governorships, and received 15% more votes than the received just 2 years ago in the presidential election. That is literally 15% of the electorate that has shifted from GOP to Dem in 2 years!
The damage trump has been doing to the GOP is catastrophic. They are fricked as a viable party for a very long time, especially after all the investigations that are about to kick off.

Talking San Fran area.
$100/month is less than 1 days rent. Or the price if half a starbucks a day.
Or Miami it's about 5 drinks at a nice bar on 1 night out.
Pretty damn cheap for an urban area and pretty sure they will sell all 200 spots every game all year.

Auburn: October 5, 1991 (Southern Miss - I had to correct this one as South Florida was considered a BCS school in 2007)
It should be noted that Southern Miss team was a bowl team led by Bret Farve his senior year and beat Auburn and Alabama both.

Good catch on the correction.
South Florida was a decent team in 2007. Besides beating us, they also beat #5 West Virginia in 07.
Also, their 3rd season in the Big East.

This would be south Florida, who eventually climbed to #2 in the BCS standings. Then lost several and ended the regular season 9-3 and #21 before losing to Oregon in their bowl game.
Wasnt really that bad of a loss. We lost by 3 in overtime.

Yes, they did.
However, they were conflicted.
Do their duty or get out of TS alive that night.
They chose wisely all things considered.

Well, we have a different opinion and I suspect Gus will win wherever he goes after AU.
For reference Gus has a 67% (60% SEC games) winning percentage in college. Tubs was 61% (68% at AU, 62% SEC games). Pat Dye was 71% (64% SEC). That is a pretty tight range between the 3.
I think Dye was a far superior coach and most of his losses came in his first and last 2 years which come with a lot of caveats (year 1 he inherited a pure shite program, the last two years he was sick as shite, nearly died and was have to deal with the Ramsey shite threatening to tear down all he had built).
I think Tubs and Gus are at about the same level coach wise and it is simply a very difficult decision without a clear answer with Gus now. With Tubs it was more clear because our recruiting had fallen. Off a cliff.

There is no clear answer to what is right long term.
Gus is a good coach with a very good staff. Garner, Steele, and Lindsey are excellent coaches. Grimes is a very good coach, just not a great recruiter. Burns is an ok receivers coach and excellent recruiter (which is what you need in a wr coach). Horton is a good recruiting coordinator.
We fire Gus, we almost certainly hire a mid tier HC choice for about 3.5M and get a middle of the road staff.
We have some issues with a monster program in state and a monster to be next door. And the criteria for a new coach is beat one of both of those monsters regularly or get fired in 2-3 years. Gus is 4-8 against those two and on a very hot seat. I could easily see 0-6 or 0-8 vs those two with a new staff. 0-4 would be very very likely.
So, I dont see a clear path. We are in the toughest spot we have been in since Pat Dye walked in the door.
I dont have strong feelings either way between fire or keep Gus. I very highly doubt we fire him this year and I guess ultimately I only support firing him if we have someone in mind that is clearly an upgrade that we feel will do better than 33% against bama and uga.

The key was planted. The Rav 4 was moved onto his property by the ex BF who obtained the day planner from the Rav 4, not her apartment as he claimed.
There is simply no way at all to argue the day planner was not removed from the Rav 4 before it was found and after she was killed. No way whatsoever. If you disagree just say so, so I can ignore anything else you post.

I do not know where she was killed or how he did it. It really doesn't matter or needs to be proven.
Ok, this is a ridiculous statement.
Yes it matters who killed her and how. We know pretty much for certain that everything the prosecution came up with is false. We know they planted evidence. There cant really be any argument anymore that they with the help of the ex-bf moved the Rav 4 onto Averys property.
The truth is the prosecution has no fricking idea how she was killed or who killed her. They made up their mind it was Avery after they found out his property was the last place she was seen and he had called and requested her to come out. Once their mind was made up, they went about creating a narrative and fabricating evidence to support it.
I believe all of this is obvious and indisputable.
Did Avery do it? Maybe. I'm inclined to believe he did not. All I know is he should have never been convicted and some police officers and the prosecutor should be in jail right now.

Yup. Doesnt look good for us.
No we arent gonna fire Gus this year.
No things are not gonna be better next year with or without Gus. Gus next year will probably be better than new guy next year, but UGA and Bama are going to be even better next year.
We are probably around LSU and AtM level next year, same as this year when we split those two. MSU will take a huge step back. Piss and Arky will still be terrible.

The play(s) that beat us was when we were up 7-6 and had the ball on the 3 and a half yard line, 2nd down.
We had all the momentum in the world. That was 4 down territory, where you find a way. There is no way they could have kept us out of the endzone for 2 or 3 downs at that point in the game if we had kept it on the ground. When we tried that pass on 2nd down that had no chance I felt it slipping away. That pass to Cox in 3rd was pathetic. I wanted to actually go for it on 4th because we get it, we are in control. We dont get it I think our D would have held and gotten us the ball right back on their side of the field with under 3 minutes left. The D was playing with a lot of emotion at that point.
I told the people I was watching the game with that was it and a turning point. I was so disgusted. Buddy was acting like I was an idiot and asking what was wrong, we were winning, etc. I knew we were about to lose the game right before half and just kept saying please find a way to get to half without blowing the game.
Seen it so many times with Gus. Our teams are all about momentum over and over, game after game, year after year. When we have it, great. When we lose it, we almost NEVER get it back. Last week against AtM was the rare exception.
