I don't think it needed to though. This was probably going to end the program with KO. This was just filler because he was hurt. I'm thinking Randy-Cena is next.

You can have tobacco, just not tabacco.
Think he drops it at Summerslam, but who knows. I'm guessing he defends against Orton next.
I will never underestimate Rock's ability to insert himself into a storyline to feed his ego and completely frick it up again.

While none of us really know what they have planned for the rest of the story I am curious if Cena drops the title at Summerslam.

Cody will end up beating him to get the title back and Cena will turn face to end his career. Just so many better ways to make all of that happen than what we got last night. I do think Cena needed to win, but not like that.
If the plan is to “ruin wrestling” by being boring and anticlimactic then people will stop watching.
Cena sold his soul to get a skinny rappers help
Rock is a damn problem. Dude just decides he wants to show up and they have to write him in. Either be in or out. This disjointed bullshite was really a slap in the face to Cena and Cody.
“Super Cody” had to carry this whole thing. That’s why I figured the Heyman - Seth thing would figure into this, so they could carry something on a weekly basis.
I thought this would be a huge cap off to a great second night and it completely nuked it.
Nothing about that is rewatchable. Best thing that happened was Cody’s iron man mask flip
I knew Cena would win but that was about as horrible an ending as you could book.
WWE is making it more important to get their little celeb cameos than put on a good match.
You know Cena isn’t winning clean
