Not tradition. But I think people are overlooking Sarkisian.
I believe he'll have them relevant nationally again very, very quickly and he'll have the players to do it. Texas booster money for NIL deals is unmatched among schools that take football seriously.

He's sober, happy, got a new wife, and a new outlook on running a program. I'll be surprised if we don't see great things from him.

They wouldn’t have won the west , that’s back when the west had 4 top 5 teams I think

What matters most is the head football coach. I don't care what conference, state, etc you are in. If you have a good coach then you'll stay good.
So as long as Jimbo is at A&M, I am 100% confident we will stay good. Will that be enough to stay ahead of tu? Probably. Sark could be the next Jimbo. Probably not though.

It definitely worked for Florida State

They do have no Jimbo. They are no longer good. The end.

True, but they did have Jimbo while they were going 14-10 vs the ACC and 5-6 overall on his final season.

Ahead forever? No. But we are ahead now, and will be for at least the next 5 years or so.
Long term, UT will catch up. But A&M won't fall behind. We will matche them step for step.
It's not 1950 anymore. A&M isn't a little military school, and we aren't financially disadvantaged by a lopsided conference revenue arrangement anymore.
The SEC will keep A&M and UT on true equal footing going forward. For the first time in the history of the series. I expect A&M/UT series to be heated, and extremely competitive on an annual basis once UT catches up to us. The days of UT racking up wins over a smaller, poorer A&M program are over.

I'm intrigued by how this will work out.
The sips get in a conference where they cannot tip the tables in their favor. All things being equal, I think Jimbo is building something rock solid and we have a good thing going. I think this falls upon Sark and how he does in Austin.
If he falters, it will be more of the same. If he flourishes, it will be tougher for the Ags. That said, his leash is short and tight.

It's hard for me to believe, after living here in Texas for almost 10 yrs, that woke-assed Austin has the state-wide support it claims to have.
So...yeah. Aggie>UTjr. Now and ever shall be, world without end, Amen.

They still have some big money donors shoveling money at them for now. But long term, I agree with you. I don't see the next generation of UT donors supporting athletics like past generations have.

The thought of having to face SEC teams week-in and out will (if it hasn't already) drop-kick that mfer off the wagon.
Bigly.

A&M as of today but 5 years from now maybe not so much. They really have to stay on top of things if they want to stay relevant.

It'll almost certainly eventually return to the status quo it was from 1975-2011. Essentially a dead heat.

Well their $ will mask the actual number of supporters for a bit, but I agree...it will fade.
Hell, I just re-hung my Tiger tag yesterday after removing it after LSU hired the limp-wrist woke prez.
Lots of things I despise about the current iteration of LSU, and I'm a 3rd generation Alumnus.

I am not sure.
But I do think this is the first time the two programs will be competing on a relatively even playing field.
I would bet A&M maintains the lead for the next decade if forced to make a prediction.
