I’m curious if y’all actually researched our roster or do y’all just regurgitate bullshite you read on the rant. Our defensive line is our most star studded and deep position group. Our offensive line has a lot to prove but it’s also a group with a lot of size and potential. LSU dominated the west with probably the least impressive offensive line we faced all season in 2019.
Aside from two or three guys I see a whole lot of kids we didn’t offer or recruit

Texas and Oklahoma recruit very well. There is not denying that. However, in the trenches, not as much. And that is where recruiting has the biggest impact around these parts. But you will soon be getting yours, no doubt.
In the trenches defensively things slacked off in the 2010's no doubt. We are much better there than we were even two years ago.
In the trenches offensively we are year in and out one of the best in the country. We do an outstanding job recruiting and developing offensive linemen.

Great. That makes my argument even stronger..
Texas kids primarily want to play for Texas when Texas puts a good product on the field and players into the draft..
Strong & Herman didn’t recruit as well as Mack (ok that’s a tall mountain) so there is a lot of room for improvement.
(1) Texas wins on the field
(2) Texas joins the SEC.
(3) Texas develops the players they get.
Do those things and Texas has a lot of room to get better.
TBD what happens if A&M ever wins anything of importance..

Lol. Keep focusing solely on Texas. There's definitely not a whole country of talent out there to be tapped into. And Jimbo definitely doesn't bother recruiting out of state so Sark shouldn't either.
Well that may help to make both good at the same time.. hey I think that would be great, but this was focused on in state talent.. but yes.. there is talent across the country.
Good recruiting + keeping those players + developing those players = More wins on the field = better recruiting

No argument from me, but the exact same statement is true for Texas A&M

Wasn't Jimbo's last year bad because his then wife was sexxxing her trainer who was a Florida grad? That home life stuff can get to you.

Why do you have any faith in Texas' ability to put together a winning strategy? The last decade would tell us differently.
The LHN was an abysmal failure as was the easier path to the playoffs.

Ojomo, Coburn, Sweat, Collins, Broughton, Abiara, Jordan Thomas
All had A&M offers and are all currently on the roster..

Over the last 20 years, Texas pulled in 8 or more of the top 25 12 times.. A&M 1 time.
Mack did that 10 times..
Herman 1 time
Strong 1 time
Fisher 1 time
I can’t go back farther or I would..
I do agree the potential is there..

The LHN has nothing to do with on the field.. nice try
But to answer your question, I believe in this coaching staff on both sides of the ball. I think Sark will figure it out.. maybe not this year, but in general. PK has me the most excited.. the guy is a stud. Until Texaw playa, this is a pointless argument though.

A&M's 2021 class had 9 players from out of state.
7 of those 9 were 4 star guys.
5 are defenders (and a 6th is an ATH that will likely end up at CB)
If you rely 100% on defensive recruits from 7 on 7 oriented Texas high schools. You're gonna have a bad time in the SEC.

Tejas has a lot of catching up to do to equal aggy imo. I would bet the farm on aggy smoking tejas for a couple of years once they get in the SEC.

Again, why are you arguing with me about something I didn’t even say? I was only looking at the State of Texas recruiting.
That being said, I am 100% certain that you can win a NC with only players from Texas.. if you pick the right ones.. and you have the coaches to develop them. This last part is where Texas has failed.

Are all the other teams using players from Ireland?

These two statements are inherently contradictory.
The thread is about UT's ability to catch up to A&M, and you're looking solely at Texas recruiting, despite the fact that half of A&M's classes are out if state guys these days. You're missing half the big picture by default. That's my point.

Me: The sky is blue.
Your response: But half or A&M’s class comes from out of state.

Raiding Alabama's staff doesn't make you Alabama.

We will struggle out of the gate to compete at a high level until we can beef up our o-line. D-line needs depth. LB'er position is a complete mess. We'll beat gay little brother though.

You can’t even beat TCU or Iowa State
